The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has not one but two new venues at Happy Valley Racecourse. David Ho checks out the grand opening party of The Beat and Vantage
The Hong Kong Jockey Club threw a grand opening party to celebrate the opening of two new venues – The Beat and Vantage – at Happy Valley Racecourse. Located on the second and third floors of the Pavilion Stand, respectively, these spaces allow guests great views of the action on the track and are destined to be the mid-week lifestyle destinations.
These venues are part of the Happy Wednesday experience, and it made for a night of merrymaking amplified by the thrill of the races. Racing fan and friends of #legend came out in full force to enjoy the event with great food and drinks provided by the new venues and were treated to performances by a live band.
A key feature at The Beat is its colossal 4K LED wall featuring the big digital Parade Ring. The Gen-AI displays were useful for comparing horse performances, along with leaderboards for jockeys and trainers, to improve the guests’ experience with races.
That night, users of the innovative technology were able to enhance their decision making by choosing up to five factors at the Interactive AI Horse Selection Stations - such as Fitness, Draw, Jockey, Trainer, and Track & Distance - to filter and identify potential winning horses for upcoming races.
With two frontrunners for comparison, users were able to explore additional candidates as well. Recent performance trends were also shown in an AI-generated summary with detailed analysis. Suffice to say, an evening at the races is no longer the same with these gamification features that introduce an unprecedented level of immersive digital entertainment.
Of course, the night wouldn’t be complete without drinks. Guests sipped on the signature cocktails at The Beat, which are all named after some of Hong Kong’s greatest racing legends, as they snacked on gourmet bar bites.
At Vantage, the elegant atmosphere was a welcome respite for those seeking refuge from the buzz whilst staying connected to the thrilling racecourse action.
