An inside-out view at Five Acres, Victoria, Australia

There is no shortage of land in the vast expanse of Australia. Its unparalleled landscapes and relationship with nature make for sweeping views and holistic travel experiences. Despite being the smallest state in southeast Australia, Victoria claims mountains, national parks, wineries, fantastic surfing beaches… and has no shortage of farms which have been converted to offer a top level of bespoke accommodations.

If you are looking for your next Victoria stay in the heart of nature, check out the four properties below.

The palette in both quarters has been inspired by the surrounding forest, seasonal fields and big skies. Complimentary local wine and cheese are provided on arrival along with an extensive breakfast hamper.

Dairy Flat Farm

Dairy Flat Farm sets across almost 40 picturesque acres, with a productive herb and vegetable garden that already supplies the multi-award-winning Lake House kitchens and a newly planted orchard of apples, pears, stone fruit, quince and medlar. It has a vineyard dedicated to cool-climate pinot noir and chardonnay, an established olive grove, ornamental hedgerow gardens, a bakehouse dedicated to slow-fermented sourdough and a concierge-serviced private Lodge for up to 12 guests.

The lodge is luxurious, with many a cosy nook, spacious bedrooms and a kitchen equipped to meet the needs of the most enthusiastic of cooks. The last year or so has seen a sharp rise in the emergence of luxurious farm stay properties, where visitors can not only relax in comfortable lodgings but also get a first-hand understanding of living off the land.
