Recently, German luxury writing instrument producer Montblanc celebrated the launch of its new timepiece collection, the Heritage Collection, with an exclusive event on the Float vessel in the middle of Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour. 

A recreational boat, the Float was able to accommodate all the guests as they checked out the Heritage Collection. As they stepped onto the vessel, they were guided through the structure, first descending to the Havana-style gentleman’s club, with an elegant interior and sophisticated lounge. The outdoor whisky tasting areas and vintage settings proved to be prime opportunities for guests to photograph themselves. There were also a number of classic games for entertainment, including dominoes, chess and table football. Finishing on the upper floor of the Float, the journey put pieces from the Heritage Collection on display throughout so that guests could take a closer look. 

Described as “the latest iteration of Montblanc’s signature watch collection – designed to complement the refined and relaxed new style of the modern aesthete”, the collection is inspired by the Minerva wristwatches from the 1940s and 1950s. The vintage designs have been reinvented to adapt to current design expectations of timepieces while still preserving the original aesthetics. For Montblanc, the highlight of the collection is the attention to the minutest of detail, which can be observed in the domed dials with two finishings, the historic look of the curved facets and polished faces, and the Sfumato straps – manufactured in Florence, Italy, as most of Montblanc’s leather items are. 

The Heritage Collection includes the Montblanc Heritage Pulsograph Limited Edition 100, the Montblanc Heritage Perpetual Calendar Limited Edition 100, the Montblanc Heritage Monopusher Chronograph, the Montblanc Heritage GMT, the Montblanc Heritage Automatic Date and the Montblanc Heritage Automatic. For Montblanc, these new timepieces “incorporate Montblanc’s time-honoured horological artistry into modern and dashingly elegant forms, bringing together the creative and technical mastery of the Montblanc Manufacture with that timeless spirit of sophisticated elegance.”
