First ever Vogue Wedding Salon opens in Tokyo

Planning a wedding can be either an exciting experience or a long and tiring process. However, at the new Vogue Wedding Salon, the second is never an option. That is right, Vogue has now opened its very first wedding salon in Omotesando, an upscale district in Tokyo.

The salon is a one stop location for everything you could possibly need to create that perfect wedding that you dreamt of flipping through a fashion magazine as a teenager.

This Vogue’s new venture is not just about wedding dresses. It also focuses on many other essentials, like floral decorations, cakes, photography, videography, shoes, hair and makeup. A group of experts from Vogue will guide you in every little detail to help you plan the most important day of your life.

In addition, if you are particularly obsessed about what shoes you wear on your special day – who isn’t? – then they definitely got you covered. The Vogue Salon offers a wide range of ready-to-wear collections to choose from and, if you don’t find the right pair, you can also go for a customised one!

In an interview with the magazine, the creative director of Vogue Wedding Mayumi Nakamura said that “the biggest single keyword for today’s contemporary weddings is ‘diversification of value’.” Just like Nakamura stresses on diversification, the wedding dresses at the salon are very diverse too. It ranges from traditional ones to very unconventional and extravagant creations.

In order to create a unique space, the salon was designed by award-winning Japanese architect Yuko Nakayama, who took inspiration from churches and palaces. In an interview with Vogue, she described the style of the place as bringing contrasting elements together.
