Travelling might not be an option right now due to COVID-19, but you can still take your taste buds on a trip around the world right here in Hong Kong. From American steakhouses to Vietnamese eateries and everything in between, hop on board, because this is one trip you won’t go hungry on.

America: Porterhouse

If you’re craving a classic American-style steak, check out Porterhouse LKF. Go North with a trip to Frantzén’s Kitchen in Sheung Wan. Although the restaurant itself is small, the simple and minimalistic menu will give you that Scandi-chic feeling. On the menu are Swedish classics, including head chef Jim Lofdahl’s own creations inspired by cuisines from around the world. One of his best innovations would have to be his “Swedish sushi” of seared venison and crispy lichens topped with foie gras.

One of the few Swiss restaurants in Hong Kong, Chesa at The Peninsula Hong Kong will transport you to a cosy lodge in the Swiss alps – minus the subzero temperatures. Start your meal with their classic cheese fondue paired with chewy chunks of baguette. Then, move onto their wider selection of mains including salmon and lamb before finishing off with their Lindt chocolate fondue.

Thailand: Samsen

Samsen usually draws long queues out the door, so getting it for pickup or delivery will save you hours of standing in line. Some of our favourites from the menu include the fried red curry fish cakes, crab fried rice, Thai omelette with crab meat, and the Wagyu beef boat noodles.
