Thailand's pioneering wellness resort blends traditional and modern practices in a month-long anniversary programme

Chiva-Som, the Thai wellness resort, celebrates its 30th anniversary this April with a series of events at its Hua Hin location. The resort, which opened in 1995, has planned a month of activities combining its traditional approach with modern wellness practices.
The centrepiece of the celebrations is a dinner on 19 April. Executive chefs from Chiva-Som Hua Hin and Zulal Wellness Resort, the brand's Qatar location, will collaborate on a menu. The meal will feature Thai, international, and Middle Eastern dishes, reflecting the culinary styles of both resorts.
The dinner will include cultural elements. Guests will plant trees on the resort grounds and view a Chiva-Som exhibition. Students supported by the resort will perform classical Thai and Khon masked theatre during the meal.
Throughout April, Chiva-Som will offer guests additional wellness experiences. Visiting consultants will lead complimentary sessions. Jill Banwell, a healing specialist, will conduct chakra balancing meditation and positive affirmation classes. Masa Sugiyama, founder of the Masa Methode, will teach anti-ageing facial exercises.

The resort will bring elements of its Qatar location to Hua Hin. Guests can book online consultations with Zulal Wellness Resort's health advisor. These sessions will focus on family wellness, aiming to encourage healthy living habits across generations.
From April 22 to 25, artist and environmentalist Notep will lead a multi-sensory experience. This programme will combine sound healing, meditation, breathwork, and creative workshops. The goal is to deepen guests' connections with themselves and nature.
Chiva-Som will also celebrate Songkran, the Thai New Year, on April 13. The resort will host a parade and offer a special barbecue dinner menu at its beachfront restaurant.
The anniversary programme reflects Chiva-Som's evolution over three decades. The resort has expanded its offerings while maintaining its core philosophy of holistic well-being. It now addresses contemporary health issues and lifestyle disruptions through specialised retreats and treatments

"April will be a true highlight of the year of anniversary celebrations at Chiva-Som Hua Hin," says Vaipanya Kongkwanyuen, general manager of Chiva-Som Hua Hin. "Throughout our three decades, Chiva-Som has stayed true to our core philosophy of holistic wellbeing, while being consistently committed to innovation and evolution to truly support individuals, community and planet."
Chiva-Som's influence in the wellness industry is evident from its recent accolades. These recognitions span categories including best destination spa, best wellness retreat and sustainability.
To mark its anniversary month, Chiva-Som is offering a special promotion. Guests booking a three-night retreat in April will pay for only two nights. This offer starts at 62,000 Thai Baht per person for two people sharing an Ocean Room.
The 30th-anniversary celebrations at Chiva-Som highlight the resort's commitment to wellness innovation. By blending traditional practices with modern approaches, the resort continues to adapt to changing health needs. As it enters its fourth decade, Chiva-Som aims to remain at the forefront of the global wellness industry.
