In a time when meaningful luxury is valued, Hong Kong's social calendar highlighted the 25th Worldwide Alba White Truffle Auction.
Picture a magnificent 908-gram white truffle fetching an impressive HK$1.2 million, contributing to a total of HK$3 million raised for Mother's Choice.
Mother's Choice is a Hong Kong-based charity that supports children without families and pregnant teenagers. The organisation focuses on providing hope and changing the life stories of vulnerable girls and babies, with a vision to see every child in a loving family.
Approximately 4,000 children in Hong Kong live in institutional care. In its mission, the charity addresses the detrimental effects of prolonged separation from family on a child's development and provides these children with necessary support and resources.
To serve this meaningful cause, the evening unfolded like a meticulously choreographed ballet with Italian white truffle expert Matteo Morello guiding an extraordinary culinary experience.
Four of Hong Kong's talented chefs - including Castellana's own Romeo Morelli and the esteemed Angelo Aglianò of Tosca di Angelo - collaborated for what can be described as a remarkable "8 hands" dinner.
This event stands out for its blend of Italian sophistication and Hong Kong's philanthropic spirit. The funds raised go to vulnerable children and teenage mothers, emphasising that true elegance lies in purposeful giving.
Located in the heart of Central, Castellana exemplifies refined dining. Since 2019, it has received accolades, including recognition from the Michelin Guide. With its commitment to sustainability and an impressive wine cellar featuring over 300 Piedmont varieties, it is clear why this venue was chosen for such an important gathering.
