Fresh: Bringing the goodness of tea to skin

Fresh’s Tea Elixir Skin Resilience Activating Serum harnesses the energy-boosting powers of a uniquely resilient tea plant found on the remote island of Mauritius

Skin science is constantly advancing, with new innovations being developed every day in laboratories around the world. But behind every cutting-edge product is often a fascinating natural ingredient that has stood the test of time, proving not only its own resilience but also its capacity to protect, strengthen and even revitalise human skin. Take the new Tea Elixir Skin Resilience Activating Serum from Fresh, which captures adaptive phytocompounds from an extraordinary tea plant that grows on the remote island of Mauritius to boost skin cell energy, strengthen the skin barrier and enhance skin’s resilience.

Known as “the pearl of the Indian Ocean”, Mauritius sits about 2,000km off the southeastern coast of East Africa. Here, a unique plant has adapted its genetic expression over more than 130 years to the island’s adverse growing conditions for tea – volcanic soil, tropical climate, low altitude – and has in fact gone on to produce adaptive phytocompounds that are proven to be 2.65x more concentrated than those of ordinary tea.

“For 15 years I’ve immersed myself in the world of tea, researching this ‘immortal health elixir’ to untap its potential. This obsession led to the discovery of an adaptive tea plant growing in unlikely conditions on the island of Mauritius,” says Lev Glazman, co-founder of Fresh. “Tea Elixir Skin Resilience Activating Serum captures the resilient power of this plant in a modern, silky texture with a scent that evokes the air and the ocean.”

In developing the serum, scientists at the Fresh Research Lab used an extraction process informed by more than 30 years of plant genetics research to break down the tea leaves’ cell membranes and filtrate the low molecular weight compounds to produce Adaptive Phytocompound Tea (APT) Technology – an exclusive ingredient concentrated in citrate and polyphenols that works to increase the skin’s bioenergetic systems and deliver antioxidant protection.

Fresh, which sources the tea from the Bois Cheri farm on Mauritius Island, combines this APT Technology with other key ingredients such as niacinamide, 5kDA hyaluronic acid, ceramide III and ocean kelp to provide a much-needed boost to skin cell energy. This in turn accelerates the metabolic cycle and activates adaptive gene mechanisms to strengthen the skin barrier and resilience, resulting in a smoother texture, visible bounciness and improved stability. Energised skin cells also produce fatty acids, which are needed to maintain a strong protective skin barrier, a key element of resilient skin.

In fact, clinical studies have shown that 100% of users saw improved elasticity and glow after just one application. Instrumental tests showed a 31% stronger skin barrier and 15% reduction in the look of wrinkles among more than 30 subjects, while the overwhelming majority of testers reported visibly resilient skin with a smoother texture, visible glow, more bounce and a significant reduction in visible pores.

Tea Elixir Skin Resilience Activating Serum is recommended for use as part of a complete treatment routine that also includes Fresh’s Soy Face Cleanser, Kombucha Treatment Essence and Black Tea Age Renewal Cream.
