Swiss sailor Alan Roura is set to embark on the Vendée Globe, a solo race around the world, aiming to inspire and unite his country

Alan Roura stands ready to tackle the Vendée Globe, one of the most demanding solo sailing challenges. The race begins on November 10 in Les Sables d’Olonne, France.

This marks Roura’s third consecutive participation. He aims to complete the race without assistance, covering approximately 45,000 kilometres.

The event has attracted significant public interest. Nearly 2.5 million spectators attended the pre-race festivities, a stark contrast to the last edition held without crowds due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Roura expressed his gratitude for the support from Hublot and his fellow Swiss citizens. He emphasised the importance of pushing personal limits and embracing the journey ahead, regardless of challenges.

Hublot’s CEO, Julien Tornare, highlighted their commitment to ocean racing technology. The partnership reflects a shared philosophy of striving for excellence and innovation.

As Roura prepares to set sail, he embodies a spirit of determination and resilience. His journey is not just about competition; it is about connecting with a community and sharing the joys of sailing.
