As we look forward to warmer, brighter days ahead and a wardrobe with more cheerful palettes, we’re making sure you’re prepared with the perfect accessories to match. We’ve been particularly lucky this season and have been spoilt for choice with a number of new bags designed by some of the greatest in the business today – Daniel Lee, Miuccia Prada and Riccardo Tisci, to name a few. From a phone-case bag to a chain-pouch bag, here are some of the chicest pieces to choose.
Bottega Veneta
We’ve all noticed the transformation of Italian luxury brand Bottega Veneta under the vision of new creative director Daniel Lee. He’s given the brand a much fresher take – a welcome change that’s translating to increased sales, according to Kering‘s 2019 annual report.
Seen on international stars such as Hailey Bieber, Song Hye-kyo and Chiara Ferragni, to name a few, Lee added a chunky chain strap to this season’s classic “pouch” bag, which means you can carry it on the shoulder or as a pouch with the chain as an accessory. Available in white, black and beige, it’s definitely one of the must-haves that will brighten up your wardrobe.

Prada
After a 20-year wait, Italian fashion designer Miuccia Prada surprised us with the big return of Prada’s bowling bag at the spring/summer runway 2020 show. Introducing a completely different shape, design and colour combination, we see how Prada added modern interpretations to the classic bowling bag, which comes in two sizes: large (with handle) and small, both with a zipper. For those who’ve been looking for a functional yet stylish travel bag (HK$17,900), this is it.

Fendi
Spotted on actress Son Ye-jin in the record-breaking Korean drama Crash Landing on You, we just can’t enough of Fendi’s Brown Mini Karligraphy Bag. Crafted in Italy, the calfskin shoulder bag is one of the hottest-selling items designed by Karl Lagerfeld in the ’80s. Bringing it back this season, we love the thoughtful and functional adjustments to the bag, such as its two compartments and five slots for storage. As it’s running out of stock, check it out now at Fendi’s online store.

Loewe
To all the fashionistas out there – after carrying Loewe’s gate bag for a few seasons, it’s time for a change. Creative director Jonathan Anderson knows exactly what we want for spring/summer, showing us a brand new style on the SS2020 runway. Playing with materials such as canvas and leather, it’s a bag we can totally imagine as a must-have this summer. Get the new classic now at MyTheresa.com.
Burberry
Since Riccardo Tisci’s appointment as chief creative officer at Burberry in 2018, we’ve seen him bring new and creative elements to the historic brand. Seen on the spring/summer 2020 runway, Tisci created a new signature bag shape, the Pocket Bag, which is made of premium canvas and leather. We like the new stamped logo that gives it a vintage feel and highlights the origins of Burberry. With such a minimal style, it goes well with everything, but especially a pair of jeans and a white T-shirt.

Balenciaga
As grown-ups, most of us have put aside those Hello Kitty toys we once loved as children. However, Balenciaga managed to make it cool again and totally acceptable for adult consumption by teaming up with Sanrio to create a playful but tasteful collection. What’s more, the Hello Kitty phone case bag (HK$7,350) fits a lot more than just your phone, so feel free to stick in a few more items in there! To all those Hello Kitty lovers out there – what are you waiting for?
