The rugged, rocky mountain terrain of Jabal Akhdar is bare for most of the year, except between the end of last month and the middle of next month, when thousands of Damask roses bloom on its slopes. Perched 2,500 metres above sea level and looking out over the carpet of pink is Alila Jabal Akhdar.
