“Music has been with me since before I even realised it,” says Tytan Teepprasan, the immensely talented young artist from 411 Music, as he reflects on his beginnings. Since his mother played classical music to him whilst he was still in the womb, and by the age of three or four he had begun learning the piano in earnest, growing up with singing, dancing, and picking apart songs every single day, until music became, quite simply, the primary language of his life.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

“I had the opportunity to become a dancer when I was around nine or ten years old, which was very young, but rather than feeling frightened, I found it thrilling and brilliant fun. Alongside dancing, I was playing music as well, violin in the school orchestra. My foundation was entirely in classical music. I sat my ABRSM examinations in both piano and violin through to Grade 8, and after that I gradually moved on to the guitar. When I reached my teenage years, I became curious about how music was actually made. It wasn’t enough to simply sing along or copy the dance moves, I wanted to create it myself. I was once a member of a boyband called Mad Monkeys when I was fourteen, but when I moved into international schooling, the academic pressure became very real. In the end I decided to go to university in London, University College London, to study Management Science, which couldn’t have been further from music. But I carried on making music throughout. That was when I realised that if I was working this hard academically and still couldn’t stop making music, I must genuinely love it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He decided to release his own songs on YouTube, doing everything himself and funding it out of his own pocket. Less than a month later, Tytan returned to Thailand and met the team at 411 Music, the path that would ultimately lead to his debut as a solo artist. That role has pushed him to keep developing, and he continues to learn from every experience that comes his way.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I’m very detail-oriented. Every time I perform, I feel as though it teaches me something. Sometimes during the process I think something has turned out brilliantly, but when I go back and watch it properly, I can see there’s still a great deal to refine. I feel that an artist is simply a person who must keep growing in many respects, so I’m always studying, continuously developing my singing and dancing, and recently I’ve been placing much greater emphasis on songwriting, particularly the behind-the-scenes craft. Getting to work on music for BamBam’s album HOMETOWN was enormously enjoyable, because it requires a completely different way of thinking. I have to ask myself that, if I were him, how would I tell this story in a way that feels most authentically like him? And seeing a friend perform a song you had a hand in creating, that’s a different kind of pride altogether. Anyway, beyond music, I’ve had a dream since childhood of running a restaurant. I now have a yakiniku restaurant with my friend called Domo Yakiniku, and an izakaya called Home Run, because I’m absolutely passionate about Japanese food. It’s another side of my life that helps me stay balanced.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside the joy of being an artist, Tytan has faced genuinely difficult periods, times when his mental health suffered, but in the end, music and songwriting helped carry him through.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Last year, a great deal happened all at once, including losing my dog. I felt that it had been building up since my debut, really. Perhaps I’d been under pressure all along but brushing it aside, telling myself it would pass. But when things accumulate for long enough, there comes a point where you find yourself spending far too much time inside your own head. Making music requires a lot of solitude, and eventually I reached a point where I needed to speak to a doctor. But what helped me the most was returning to the music itself. A song like \u2018After The Rain,\u2019 I made it with the intention of it being uplifting. I wanted it to feel like a morning coffee, something to boost the energy of whoever was listening, including myself.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TYTAN 1st Mini Album Y.O.B.O. (YOU’RE ONLY BORN ONCE), was born from the identity and dedication of this deeply passionate artist. He wanted each track to reflect a different emotion, both his own and those of his fans. One song in particular that holds a very special place in his heart is My Soulmate Is Meteor.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The song that means the most to me is \u2018My Soulmate Is Meteor\u2019. When it was released, we didn’t just make a music video, we made a short film, in which I played the lead role. It felt like the moment I was able to return to acting again, and the meaning of the song runs very deep. I love the idea that even if a thousand shooting stars cross the sky, if you have one dream that matters more than anything else in your life, that’s the only wish you’ll make. It’s the sort of song that, whenever it comes up, I can still recall every single step of making it. I’d like to say to anyone who dreams of becoming an artist. Just follow that dream, and don’t give up. I’ve learnt that what you cannot control, you must let go of, but you mustn’t let go of too much, either. There’s a balance to strike between not carrying the weight of everything and still bringing your own detail, your own final touch, so that the work becomes something you’re genuinely proud of.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For all his passion for music, the person he considers a true legend is, perhaps unexpectedly, a celebrated football manager.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I have supported Arsenal for a long time, and Mikel Arteta is someone I hold in enormously high regard. Before he arrived, the club was in a dreadful state, but he built the foundations patiently, one step at a time, over several years, even without winning a title for a long while. His mindset was simply never to give up, to keep believing in the day the trophy would come. It makes me feel that I ought to absorb that same sort of perseverance.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To become the person he is today, Tytan has been through a great deal, the good and the difficult alike. He has a tattoo that serves as a constant reminder to himself: “Don’t lose the little kid inside you.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I were speaking to my future self, the one thing I would say is, don\u2019t give up. And there\u2019s a phrase I always return to, don\u2019t forget the child who lives within you. Because that child is the one who brought you here. Sometimes, as you grow older and take on more responsibility, the stress of it all makes you forget just how desperately that younger version of you wanted to stand exactly where you’re standing now.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for what comes next, Tytan is taking the time to discover new directions for himself, because for him, growth isn’t simply about going further, it’s about remaining true to the dream of that child who has always been there, somewhere inside.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
