“…When dining is no longer defined solely by flavour, but by a thoughtfully crafted experience, Krungthai Card Public Company Limited (KTC) joins forces with Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort to introduce Sala Lakorn, a new riverside theatre restaurant concept along the Chao Phraya River. Designed to elevate the evening meal into a living cultural dialogue, Sala Lakorn reimagines what it means to dine in the age of experience…”

Rather than following the conventions of a traditional dinner show, Sala Lakorn brings the language of theatre directly onto the dining floor. Here, cuisine, performance, and atmosphere are seamlessly interwoven into a single, unfolding narrative. The concept reflects the rise of the Experience Economy, as both Thai and international travellers increasingly seek immersive encounters, experiences rooted in culture, emotion, and a sense of place that cannot be easily replicated.

At the heart of Sala Lakorn lies a 60-minute contemporary theatrical production, The Eternal Siam, conceived and directed by Manop Meejamrat (Khru Nai), National Artist in Contemporary Performing Arts. The performance reinterprets the story of Siam through a modern lens, drawing from river-based civilisation along the Chao Phraya, the Royal Barge Procession, and classical performance traditions such as Nang Yai shadow puppetry. These elements are woven together through contemporary theatrical language that is both accessible and rich in cultural depth.

From KTC’s perspective, the collaboration signals a clear shift in consumer values. Ms. Varitta Phatanarajta, Head of Credit Card Marketing Division at KTC, notes that members today place greater emphasis on meaning and emotional value rather than price alone, an evolution reflected in the very essence of Sala Lakorn.

The experience is further enriched by a premium international buffet, featuring high-quality seafood, authentic Thai dishes, and an array of desserts. Served against panoramic night-time views of the Chao Phraya River, the offering reinforces dining as a truly multisensory experience, engaging taste, sight, sound, and emotion in equal measure.

Sala Lakorn, therefore, is not merely a restaurant nor simply a performance venue. It is a carefully composed space where art, culture, and shared moments converge, offering a new definition of dining in an era where memories have become one of life’s most valued currencies.
