Prime Video has released the official trailer for “Host,”a Thai Amazon Original horror film inspired by the ancient folklore of “Mae Sue,” a guardian spirit believed to protect newborns. The story unfolds within a reformatory school for girls, where Ing (played by Baipo–Thitiya Jirapornsilp) is sent for rehabilitation and soon becomes the target of Aim (played by Perth–Weerinsara Tangkitwanit), the school’s notorious ringleader. As strange and terrifying events begin to occur, Ing is forced to confront a chilling question — is she merely a victim of the supernatural, or could she be the source of it herself?

The legend of Mae Sue has long been woven into Thai culture as a benevolent spirit or deity who watches over infants, inspiring rituals and beliefs that vary across regions. These age-old tales served as the foundation for director Pokpong–Piraach Khumwan and his creative team to craft a modern horror story that reinterprets the myth for today’s audience.

Produced by Transformation Films in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios, Host is directed by Pokpong–Piraach Khumwan, known for his acclaimed works Siam Square and Girl from Nowhere. The film stars Baipo–Thitiya Jirapornsilp (Love Stuck, You & Me & Me, Not Friends), Perth–Weerinsara Tangkitwanit (Attack: The Haunted Dorm), and Jump–Pisitpol Ekaphongpisit (Khun Shine, Not Friends), alongside supporting cast members Ae–Narinthorn Na Bangchang, Vee–Weeraya Zhang, Neptune–Natkrita Poonsukwattana, and Fame–Sanatcha Chanchum.
