“…Art has always been at the heart of Piaget—a bond that has endured since the Maison’s founding more than 150 years ago. Among its most illustrious admirers was Andy Warhol, a visionary who was deeply fascinated by Piaget’s daring sense of design.…”

A collector by nature, Warhol owned over 300 watches throughout his life, seven of which were by Piaget, including the now-iconic cushion-shaped model he purchased in 1973, once known as the reference 15102 or simply the ‘Black Tie.’ Piaget revisited this timeless creation in 2014 to celebrate its 140th anniversary, and a decade later, in 2024, the partnership was finally sealed when the Maison joined forces with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts to officially license and name this emblematic timepiece after the artist himself, the Andy Warhol Watch.

The latest iteration retains the graceful poise of the original with a stepped cushion case, a dial meticulously crafted from ornamental gemstones, and a supple leather strap. This year, Piaget reimagines the legend once again with a spectacular limited edition of just 50 pieces inspired by Warhol’s vibrant artwork ‘Collage.’

Its dial becomes a true canvas of colour, featuring a marquetry of vivid gemstones assembled in an abstract composition that mirrors one of Warhol’s celebrated Polaroid collage self-portraits from 1986. The 45 mm case, sculpted in 18-carat yellow gold, pays homage to Warhol’s own 1973 watch, which combined a yellow-gold case with a black leather strap. In this edition, a deep green strap replaces the original, adding a touch of contemporary refinement while preserving the timepiece’s timeless elegance and its perfect harmony of art, sophistication, and horological mastery.
