“…Snowflakes never share the same shape, and sometimes, that quiet uniqueness reveals more about identity than anything spoken aloud. The story of Swatch’s latest timepiece begins in the very same spirit. Like a lone snowflake drifting through winter air, its inspiration crystallises into the newest MISSION TO EARTHPHASE – MOONSHINE GOLD, returning this season in a fresh winter guise, capturing the beauty of the coldest months through its most delicate details…”

The narrative unfolds in Biel, Switzerland, on a crisp December morning, the kind that makes the world feel expectant, as though waiting for the first snowfall. And on the night of 4 December, under what the northern hemisphere calls the “Cold Moon”, Swatch chose this celestial moment to reveal its remarkable creation: the MISSION TO EARTHPHASE – MOONSHINE GOLD Cold Moon. Beneath its pale lunar glow, a series of laser-engraved snowflake motifs were born onto the moon-phase disc, no two alike, each forming a singular identity. Just like a real snowflake, each watch becomes its own unrepeatable story.

The new white palette evokes a landscape blanketed in fresh snow, serene, untouched, dreamlike. While the overall architecture remains true to the original Earthphase design, this edition elevates the concept with refined complications: the Earth-phase and moon-phase indicators, working in harmony with OMEGA’s shimmering Moonshine™ Gold. And in classic Swatch fashion, a touch of playfulness remains proudly present, most notably the winter-themed Snoopy illustration at 9 o’clock, reimagined as if lifted from a charming holiday card.

Look a little closer and the technical craftsmanship reveals itself with the same precision expected from both Swatch and OMEGA. The 42 mm case, 13.75 mm thickness, and box-shaped biosourced crystal, adorned with a delicate “S”, all come together like scenes in a winter film, where every element contributes to an atmosphere of quiet beauty.
True to the Bioceramic MoonSwatch universe, the case, crown and pushers are crafted from Swatch’s patented Bioceramic, lightweight, durable, and unmistakably tactile, while honouring iconic Speedmaster signatures. The asymmetric case, the famed dot over 90 tachymeter, and the opaline white dial enhanced with Super-LumiNova® all evoke the glimmer of moonlight catching on frost. Completing the look, the white VELCRO® strap hints at the world of space exploration, a sleek nod to astronauts and their equipment.

This poetic wintertime creation will be available from 4 December 2025, under the Cold Moon, until 20 March 2026, the final day of the season. But what makes this model truly enchanting is its unusual rule: after launch day, the watch will only be sold on days when it snows in Switzerland. Each snowfall, therefore, becomes an invitation, a moment of chance, rarity and excitement, ensuring that every purchase feels as magical as the watch itself.
