“…Khemjira The Series” is a captivating boy’s love series produced by DOMUNDI and Mandee Work. With its gripping storyline and dynamic pacing, the show has transcended genre boundaries and captured the hearts of a broad audience. One of the key factors behind its success lies in the stellar performances of its cast, who bring their characters to life with remarkable authenticity. #legend_th had the opportunity to speak with Matimun “Tle” Sreeboonrueang and Wannakorn “FirstOne” Reungrat, two of the series’ rising stars, about their very first acting experiences and how their relationship has evolved as partners who are ready to grow together in the industry…”

Before joining this project, the duo had previously appeared on DMD Friendship the Reality. Although they were not paired as partners in the show, their chemistry was undeniable, a connection that eventually led them to portray Jettana and Chanwit in the series

FirstOne: “We first met before DMD Friendship, but we didn’t really have a chance to talk back then. It was only during DMD Friendship that we started getting to know each other. Tle joined around the middle of the show, I think around episode three, and that’s when we began to connect. At the time, we didn’t choose to become partners, but after the show ended, we decided to work together officially. We had already been working together for a while, so when it came to filming Khemjira The Series, it didn’t feel difficult to work alongside him at all.”

Tle: “After we became partners, the project Khemjira The Series came along. The owner of the company had us both audition for the roles of Chanwit and Jettana. As soon as we did the casting, he thought the roles suited us perfectly, so we got to play them together. We had already worked together before this series, but the challenging part this time was the acting itself. This series is actually the first series for both of us, and the roles were quite demanding. The production was on a large scale; everything was grand and impressive. As newcomers, we went through a bit of an initiation with our senior castmates, so that was another challenge. But after about ten shooting days, everything started to flow more smoothly.”

In this series, the two actors encounter a wide range of experiences and face numerous challenges as newcomers to the screen. Yet, both of them vividly recall the scenes that left a lasting impression, moments that demanded their utmost dedication and emotional depth to bring to life

Tle: “My favourite scene is the bridge jump. It was such an emotional moment because Chanwit was about to lose Jettana. I cried from the very first take, it just all came pouring out natu-rally. There were many actors in that scene, and when we actually started filming, it felt like everyone’s emotions were perfectly in sync. My character didn’t want Jettana to go, and as I performed, I think I was truly feeling his pain. I really love that scene, especially because it’s paired with the song our duo recorded together, which made it even more impactful for me.

FirstOne: “For me, it would be the underwater scene, because that was one of the hardest parts to film. At first, I honestly didn’t know if I could do it. I can’t swim at all, and suddenly I had to act underwater. I couldn’t imagine how it would turn out, but when I finally saw the finished scene, I felt so proud, of myself and of Tle as well.”

The characters they portray in the series, they both agree, reflect a mix of similarities and differences to who they are in real life

FirstOne: “Our personalities might seem quite similar on the surface, but there are differences in the way we think and behave. For example, Jettana is the one who approaches Chanwit first because Chanwit is quite reserved, and Jettana finds that slightly annoying, so he takes the initiative to talk to him. But in real life, I’m not like that at all. It’s actually Tle who usually starts the conversation with me.”

Tle: “I think Firstone really blends into Jettana’s character, there are parts of him that are different, but also a lot that’s similar. As for me and Chanwit, he’s a deeply introverted person. If he had free time, he’d probably spend it reading. But for me, l’d rather stay in and watch a series, play games, or listen to music. I’m not as introverted as Chanwit. I enjoy going out and meeting friends from time to time. Chanwit, on the other hand, would probably just stay in his room reading.”

Their first acting project was rooted in the dramatic and horror genre, but if given the chance to work together again, both actors shared that they would love to explore something a little lighter next time

FirstOne: “Maybe a comedy? Something on the funnier side. Whenever Tle and I joke around, our chemistry works really well; we bounce off each other naturally. I think it would be fun to try that.”

Tle: “Comedy actually sounds interesting. Personally, I really like romantic comedies. I enjoy watching series that aren’t too serious or heavy on drama because sometimes overly dramatic shows can feel a bit stressful. But with a rom-com, it’s relaxing; you can watch 12 or 16 episodes all the way through and just feel entertained without any pressure.”
