“…Boucheron presents its latest Carte Blanche High Jewellery Collection 2025, crafted under the poetic theme of “Impermanence,” a tribute to the fleeting beauty of nature. This collection is a masterful expression of savoir-faire, blending exceptional craftsmanship, innovative materials, and high-level techniques to achieve flawless artistry…”
The collection is the vision of Claire Choisne, Boucheron’s Creative Director, who drew inspiration from the Japanese philosophies of Wabi-Sabi and Ikebana. Comprising over 28 unique pieces across six key compositions, the collection reflects transitional moments in nature, between light and shadow, material and spirit, form and transformation.
Composition N°1: Poppies, sweet peas, and a butterfly express a dreamlike void, using Vantablack®, one of the darkest materials in existence, to represent the vanishing of light and elevate a sense of mystery.
Composition N°2: A magnolia tree and stick insect explore the interplay between shadow and botanical form, with asymmetrical structures and refined surface treatments.
Composition N°3: Irises, wisteria, and a stag beetle in a dramatic black-and-white palette convey a sense of vulnerability through ceramics, aluminium, and sparkling diamonds.
Composition N°4: Cyclamen, oat stalks, caterpillars, and butterflies are brought to life through intricate mechanisms, creating a floating illusion that evokes nature in motion.
Composition N°5: Thistles and a rhinoceros beetle celebrate resilience and elegance, with an innovative diamond-setting technique on natural plant resin, marking a first in high jewellery.
Composition N°6: Tulips, eucalyptus, and a dragonfly are delicately crafted from borosilicate glass, capturing the ethereal fragility of nature. The dragonfly’s wings appear nearly lifelike in their translucency.
The Carte Blanche: Impermanence collection embodies Boucheron’s fearless vision, where traditional jewellery techniques are reimagined using bold materials such as sapphire glass, titanium, aluminium, natural resin, and even 3D-printed sand. Each piece is not only a wearable artwork but also a meditation on the transience of beauty and life. Each piece is designed with versatility in mind, many creations are transformable in multi-wear formats, effortlessly becoming brooches, hairpieces, head ornaments, or cuffs. The collection is both poetic and practical, offering wearable expressions of artistic freedom and natural imperfection.
