“…Diesel electrified the opening day of Milan Fashion Week, as Glenn Martens once again demonstrated his flair for spectacle. For Spring/Summer 2026, the Creative Director transformed the city into a runway with the Diesel Egg Hunt—a guerrilla-style presentation that invited Milan itself to play…”
Instead of a catwalk, more than 55 looks appeared across the city’s streets, each model encased within an oversized transparent egg—futuristic capsules that blurred the line between performance and public space. With the support of the municipality, the installation opened Diesel’s world to everyone, a radical and democratic gesture that dissolved the traditional front-row divide.
The collection was a study in distortion and disruption. Familiar Diesel signatures were reinvented: biker jackets expanded with cocoon-like neoprene sleeves; tailored coats were spliced with rugged strapping; and mini-dresses appeared twisted around the body, secured with harness-like ties. Satin denim—a Diesel innovation, cut from recycled polyester and laser-distressed—emerged in vivid shades, shaping sleeveless bikers, apron dresses and deconstructed coats.
Illusion and perception played throughout. Denim was bleached from the inside out, like an X-ray of a garment. Trompe l’oeil knits resembled pieces splitting apart, seams left raw and gaping. Other dresses carried prints of imaginary animal skins or florals spilling into frayed textures.
Proportions were further subverted with inner layers deliberately cut larger than outer shells, producing silhouettes that defied logic.
Accessories shared the same audacity. The Load-D bag slouched with pod-like twin Ds, while the D-Pods offered rigidity with four moulded Ds. The Flag-D was reimagined as three zippered leather bags folded and layered into one. Footwear spanned sleek mules with floating Ds across the foot, strappy heels coiling like vines tipped with metal, and loafers set on oversized track soles.
The accessories heightened the drama. Jewellery resembled anatomy, with necklaces cradling the throat like skeletal frames, while rings and cuffs echoed vertebrae. Pavé-studded Vert watches glittered beside new eyewear debuts: Round-D, bold oversized acetate frames with embedded metal, and Geck-D, sculpted sharply in acetate.
“This is Diesel for the people,” Martens declared. “A collection discovered by the public at the same time as everyone else. Fashion is a game and we are playing it: everybody gets the front row. Follow the rules, then break them, For Successful Living!”
