The jewellery designs of Cindy Chao The Art Jewel resemble masterpieces crafted from exquisite gems, particularly the Black Label Masterpiece collection crafted by the skilled hands of the finest artisans. Leading to a true masterpiece that reflects the boundless imagination of the Taiwanese jewellery designer, transforming it into the utmost high jewellery adorned with breathtakingly beautiful coloured gems from every angle, with each piece taking years to meticulously craft. #legend_th had the opportunity to witness these close-up masterpieces showcased at an exclusive exhibition held at a villa along the riverbank in Bangkok

Each piece is displayed in vertically oriented rectangular glass cabinets designed to minimize light reflection, allowing us to see each gem shimmer beautifully. Cindy Chao has also been closely connected to art since childhood, as her father is a sculptor and her grandfather is a renowned architect. She interprets and conveys her artistic skills through jewellery design, drawing inspiration primarily from nature, architecture, and sculpture. Cindy Chao’s jewellery pieces replicate natural forms with remarkable authenticity, such as the pearl-adorned butterfly brooches in the Annual Butterfly collection, coveted by discerning jewellery collectors around the globe and currently with a long waiting list.

The current jewellery exhibition features a captivating selection of 6 pieces from the Black Label Masterpieces collection, meticulously crafted between 2022 and 2023. Inspired by a fusion of artistic expression and the elegance of nature, these pieces have been transformed into exquisite jewellery. Sculpted with precision using the strongest and most resilient titanium alloy material, they exude a delicate charm and lifelike allure. Skilfully fashioned by artisans with over 15 years of expertise, each piece is adorned with stunning coloured gems, ensuring they are lightweight and comfortable to wear.

2023 Black Label Masterpiece II Pamir Brooch

The eye-catching masterpiece among them is the Pamir Brooch, inspired by the Pamir Mountains in Tajikistan, known for their breathtaking natural beauty and snow-capped peaks. This unique beauty is translated into a tree-shaped brooch with intricately detailed roots, adorned with a total of over 5,786 pearls, weighing more than 265.31 carats. Including oval-shaped diamonds, fancy rose-cut diamonds reminiscent of snowflakes on the tree’s branches, as well as yellow-toned sapphires, sapphires, and mesmerising coloured gems.

2022 Black Label Masterpiece II Picasso’s Dream Earrings

The white egret peacock feather brooch, adorned with over 189.15 carats of gems, features a heart-shaped diamond centrepiece weighing 19.14 carats, surrounded by diamonds, yellow diamonds, and variously shaped brown diamonds. The stem is meticulously crafted from titanium, seamlessly blending with all the gems. This piece was chosen by Michelle Yeoh to wear at the Vanity Fair Oscar party, paired with a black off-the-shoulder gown from Balenciaga.

2023 Black Label Masterpiece X Spring Riverside Bangle

The River Seine in Paris is an endless inspiration for art. Its natural beauty, from the sky to the flowers, reflected on the water, inspired an exquisite 18k gold pendant. Adorned with over 10 pink sapphires and surrounded by various gems including diamonds, fancy diamonds, variously colored sapphires, garnets, tsavorite, and paraiba tourmalines, with a combined weight of over 305.7 carats. This precious captures the complexity of jewellery design, akin to Monet’s brushstrokes that captivate the viewer’s senses.

2022 Black Label Masterpiece II Picasso’s Dream Earrings

Inspired by Pablo Picasso’s oil painting “Le Rêve” (The Dream) merged with the distinctive shape of a trilocular fruit, Picasso’s Dream earrings feature a unique design. Crafted with titanium frames adorned with stunning coloured gems on all three sides, totalling 155.94 carats, these earrings dazzle with yellow and brown diamond centrepieces weighing over 16 carats each. Enhanced with morganite, sapphires, alexandrite, and changing-colour garnets. Leading the piece that demands a 360-degree view to fully appreciate their beauty in every dimension.

2022 Black Label Masterpiece XI Spring Cardamom Brooch

The spring cardamom brooch is another masterpiece that seamlessly blends natural shapes into jewellery, achieving the utmost realism. Its design mimics naturally scattered leaves, captivating with perfectly round, glistening morganite “seeds” resembling those found within pods, each weighing 80.79 carats. Adjacent seeds are adorned with delicately cut rose-cut diamonds, enhancing the overall brilliance and allure of the diamond’s sparkle. The pod and leaves are meticulously crafted with titanium frames, embellished with diamonds, yellow fancy diamonds, brown diamonds, multicoloured sapphires, and tourmalines, weighing a total of over 251.31 carats.

Emerald Ribbon Necklace

The ribbon is another symbol frequently utilised by Cindy Chao in her jewellery designs. In her latest creation, the Emerald Ribbon necklace, she draws inspiration from the deliberate act of tying a ribbon onto a gift box, meticulously crafting it into a necklace shaped like a ribbon. The frame is made of 18k white and yellow gold, adorned with a captivatingly cut emerald weighing 14.37 carats, surrounded by diamonds and pearls in shades of blue and green, arranged in a gradient of colours, including sapphires and tourmalines. The total weight of all the gems amounts to 111.76 carats.

In addition to the masterpiece-level pieces showcased in this event, Cindy Chao is currently crafting a masterpiece to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her brand. This piece is bound to be as spectacular as the brand itself, celebrating two decades of exceptional jewellery design.
