"...Many brands view the process of creating new diamond cuts as a meticulous and deliberate endeavour, dedicating time and effort to conceptualise and perfect. Various shapes add an extra layer of intrigue, elevating the allure of diamond interpretations. Here are some interesting diamond cuts with bold and distinctive designs..."

Taille Impératrice Cut

Chaumet, a prestigious jewelry brand from France, is making its debut in Thailand soon. This brand has ingeniously crafted diamonds into a distinctive shape called Taille Impératrice, paying homage to Empress Josephine, a notable brand patron. The exquisite hexagonal diamond, with its stunning 88 facets, embodies opulence and brings forth a sense of prosperity and blessings. Empress Josephine's appreciation for the wonders of nature inspires this unique hexagonal design. Designers carefully position these exquisite hexagonal diamonds at the center of a stunning white gold ring, resulting in an engagement ring with a unique design. The Bee My Love collection features an exquisite white and yellow gold case adorned with beautifully embellished Taille Impératrice diamonds, showcasing the brand's iconic design in all its glory.

Hero Cut

The Hero Cut is a special diamond shape uniquely created by Fred Jewelry. Designed by Valérie Samuel, the Artistic Director and Vice President of the company, this special diamond design is dedicated to her father, Fred Samuel. It reflects his passion for the sea and sunlight, which served as a guiding compass for him. The diamond is shaped like a sailboat or can be seen as a shield, featuring more than 32 facets. It took over six months to develop this unique cut. This distinctive shape symbolises strength, courage, and perseverance. The Hero Cut diamond is incorporated into the jewellery pieces of the iconic Force 10 collection, including rings, bracelets, and necklaces.

Moreover, Fred Jewelry has developed lab-grown diamonds with a brilliant blue tone from the Audacious Blue collection, which was launched late last year. These lab-grown diamonds, characterised by their unique colours and shapes, are GIA-certified by the Gemological Institute of America. This innovation has generated excitement in the jewellery industry, featuring unprecedented cutting styles and lab-grown diamonds with a deep, unique blue hue.

LV Monogram Star

No one is unfamiliar with the monogram pattern from Louis Vuitton. This iconic symbol was designed by Georges-Louis Vuitton in 1896 to prevent counterfeiting of Louis Vuitton trunks, making them distinct from other trunks available in the market. It also serves as a tribute to his father, who passed away in 1892, using the initials "LV" for Louis Vuitton and incorporating two-dimensional floral motifs inspired by Japanese art, which was popular in Europe during the 19th century.

The monogram flower, prominently featured on many of the brand's products, has been showcased in full splendour once again in the LV Diamonds collection. This collection features pure, high-quality diamonds cut in a unique style, utilising the high-level craftsmanship of artisans. The LV Monogram Star is meticulously cut with 53 facets, reflecting the distinctive shape of Louis Vuitton's four-pointed monogram floral motif.

Francesca Amfitheatrof, the Artistic Director of Watches and Jewelry at Louis Vuitton, has utilised the LV Monogram Star to create a variety of jewellery pieces. These include a platinum ring set with a single LV Monogram Star diamond and a delicate necklace adorned with an LV Monogram Star pendant. Beyond the unique beauty of the diamond's shape, Louis Vuitton guarantees the quality and attributes of their diamonds with the LV Diamonds certificate, which outlines the four key characteristics of the diamonds.

This certification also details the origin of each diamond, recording its journey from the source to the workshop where it is cut, polished, and set, all the way to the retail store using the Aura Blockchain Consortium. This digital information storage technology securely transmits data and is globally recognised. LVMH has led the development of this system to ensure that buyers can be confident they are purchasing authentic and natural diamonds.

Prada Cut

In late 2022, Prada launched its fine jewellery collection, breaking conventions in the fine jewellery industry by creating pieces from 100% recycled gold. Additionally, the brand chose to use lab-grown diamonds with a distinctive triangular cut, reminiscent of the brand’s emblem, named the Prada Cut. Despite being lab-grown, these diamonds maintain the complete 4 Cs of diamond quality, comparable to natural diamonds. Each triangular diamond is cut with 31 facets, creating a multidimensional sparkle that catches the eye. This modern and unique shape aligns perfectly with the brand’s cool, minimalist character, and reflects Prada’s advanced manufacturing innovation.

The Prada Cut diamonds come in weights ranging from 0.8 carats to 5.5 carats. These diamonds stand out on settings, whether it's a single diamond ring or a necklace, or an oversized chain necklace adorned with triangular diamonds at the corners. The lab-grown diamonds are produced exclusively to order, adding a special touch for customers purchasing fine jewellery from the brand.
