Thakorn Wannawong, Creative Director and Founder of TAKARA WONG, reflects on the past decade that has seen the brand's rise to prominence. From its origins as a high-street wear brand with the "Trial and Error" concept, TAKARA WONG quickly gained recognition for its bold approach to technique, materials, and design. Drawing inspiration from cultures around the world, the brand’s clothing stood out as both innovative and unique. The brand expanded further by launching the sub-label "TKW," which focuses on accessible streetwear for younger audiences, building a community through collaborations with renowned lifestyle brands.

"TAKARA WONG is like an older brother with a rugged, bold style, while TKW is its younger sibling—playful and infused with fresh street fashion influences. Both brands, under the same roof, each have a distinct identity, allowing us to cater to a broader range of customers, from teenagers as young as 13 to young professionals up to 35 years old. Today, we’ve expanded the brand to include women’s clothing lines, along with a full range of accessories, including shoes, bags, and jewellery, to better serve a wider variety of lifestyles"

The brand’s lifestyle expansion includes ventures into cafés and bars, such as "Café TAKARA WONG" and "Bar TAKARA WONG," offering tropical-inspired concepts on the shores of Bangsaen Beach. These venues have become particularly popular among younger crowds. Additionally, "BADASGA Beach Club," a seafood restaurant serving vibrant Thai flavours and featuring a sub-brand called "Lao Lao," has further expanded the brand’s lifestyle presence.

A particularly exciting new development is the launch of a skincare range, perfumes, and home fragrances under the name "Wong by TAKARA WONG," along with a home decor brand that is set to evolve into a hotel, "Casa TAKARA WONG."

To celebrate the brand's 10-year milestone and its proud achievement of the "Asian Brand 60 Tokyo" award, TAKARA WONG hosted a celebratory event at Soho House Bangkok. The event also featured a showcase of exclusive collections created in collaboration with well-known lifestyle brands, including TAKARA WONG X TAKEO KIKUCHI TOKYO, TAKARA WONG KINN SENSORY, and TAKARA WONG X HIZOGA.
