"...Fashion Week has kicked off in Paris, a highly anticipated global event that draws attention from fashion enthusiasts worldwide. One of the most talked-about shows this season is the Summer 2025 collection from the luxury French brand Saint Laurent. This collection pays homage to the Yves era, reimagined through the innovative lens of current creative director Anthony Vaccarello…"

Since taking the helm as creative director, Anthony Vaccarello has consistently refined Saint Laurent's unique identity. The brand’s garments embody the independent spirit of the women who wear them. Over the years, the diverse allure of Saint Laurent women has been beautifully showcased through a select group of models, chosen for their individuality and representation of the 'modern woman.' To honour these inspiring figures, each look in the Summer 2025 collection is named after women who have been significant to the brand throughout its history.

In the Summer 2025 collection show, Anthony Vaccarello designed an oval-shaped runway with sleek lines, featuring curved openings that reveal a night sky. The striking blue floor reflects Yves' famous garden in Marrakech, Morocco. This captivating setting immerses viewers in the iconic 1980s era of the brand, reinterpreting classic pieces like the revolutionary Le Smoking suit for women. The new double-breasted suit highlights the modern identity of the Saint Laurent working woman. Additionally, bold accessories like thick square glasses, jewel-encrusted shoes, and gold bracelets enhance the contemporary YSL vibe. While fashion trends lean towards simplicity, Vaccarello stands out with designs that embrace complexity and personality, reflecting the essence of women today.

The collection also represents a party girl aesthetic, featuring maxi dresses crafted from key materials like printed chiffon, complemented by bold colour pairings. Brightly coloured evening gowns made from embroidery and lace, wide-shouldered coats, sheer blouses, and mini skirts in vibrant shades like fuchsia and kingfisher blue perfectly blend luxury with modernity. Additionally, shimmering silk dresses and delicate bracelets and necklaces enhance the allure and femininity of the looks. Transitioning from menswear to womenswear, this collection maintains a striking confidence that reflects the contemporary spirit of the models.

Anthony Vaccarello continues to uphold the classic essence of Saint Laurent, imbuing the collection with a sense of nostalgia and modernity. The brocade coats evoke memories of loyal patrons like Nan Kempner, who played a significant role in establishing the legendary status of Saint Laurent.
