“...Paris Fashion Week is an event that continues to captivate the world of fashion, eagerly awaited each season for the unveiling of fresh collections from iconic French maisons. However, beyond the established names, it is also a platform renowned for offering a stage to emerging brands—where groundbreaking creativity takes centre stage. This season, Copenhagen-born Ganni has undoubtedly shone as one of the most promising new brands, making its mark with a bold and innovative spirit…”

While Ganni may not yet be as widely recognised globally compared to heritage brands, it has swiftly emerged as a powerful contender among its new-wave counterparts. Known for its craftsmanship, which seamlessly blends with cutting-edge innovation, Ganni’s distinctive identity was once again brought to life with the debut of its Spring/Summer 2025 collection, held at Galerie Haute within the prestigious Palais de Tokyo.

From the very entrance of the show, Ganni set the tone for something truly unique. Rather than the usual runway spectacle, guests were greeted by a giant recycled aluminium boiling pot that ominously simmered as it reached its peak. This striking installation spoke volumes about the brand’s creative ingenuity and its futuristic approach to innovation, setting an avant-garde atmosphere before the collection even hit the runway.

At the heart of this showcase was ‘The Craft,’ a collection that represents Ganni’s vision of a future-forward wardrobe, designed to empower the Ganni girl as she grows into her confidence. Throughout the collection, a noticeable shift towards unisex themes was a key focus, with standout pieces like denim corset tops, puff-sleeve blazers paired with Bermuda shorts, and biker-style coats, all juxtaposed with fluid, feminine touches such as halterneck dresses. These pieces were elevated further by the selection of innovative fabrics, including transparent textures and cutting-edge materials in earthy tones of green, brown, and soft blue.

Though Ganni’s reputation for pushing design boundaries through innovation has become a hallmark, it is equally celebrated for its playful and creative spirit. This Danish brand has consistently fused these elements to great effect, and this collection was no exception. Creative Director Ditte Reffstrup collaborated with up-and-coming designers Nicklas Skovgaard and Claire Sullivan, lending an extra layer of depth and craftsmanship to this runway outing. Standout pieces included a bubble-hem dress, intricately patched baseball-jersey gowns, and meticulously detailed boots—showcasing a fresh take on design that brought the collection closer to perfection.

A cornerstone of Ganni’s ethos is sustainability, an aspect deeply embedded within this collection through the brand’s ‘Fabrics of the Future’ initiative. Launched in 2019, the programme represents Ganni’s commitment to driving sustainability across the global fashion industry. For the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, the brand experimented with over 30 new materials, including six eco-friendly innovations such as Circulose, Celium, Oleatex, Cycora, and Pelinova. The collection’s highlight came in the form of a vintage-inspired sneaker crafted from Simplifyber™, a cutting-edge bio-based fibre that aligns with Ganni’s dedication to environmentally conscious fashion.

"This collection is about courage, empowerment, and connection. We wanted to convey the confidence and strength of the Ganni woman, who is bold and unapologetically herself. My heart races the most when we talk about creating responsible materials, and our 'Fabrics of the Future' initiative truly feels like magic"
