The Olympic Torch
The Olympic torch is one of the most anticipated design pieces globally. Designed by renowned French designer Mathieu Lehanneur, the torch for the 33rd Olympic Games embodies elegance and sophistication, fitting for a city celebrated for its fashion and design prowess. Inspired by themes of 'Equality, Water and Peacefulness,' the torch features a symmetrical, minimalist design. Its standout feature is the wave-like pattern that graces its midsection, conveying a sense of calm and fluidity, perfectly encapsulating the serene and noble spirit of the Olympics.
The Mascot
Often colloquially referred to as the "Mascot," the official mascot of this Olympic Games is named the Olympic Phryge. Drawing inspiration from the Phrygian hat, a cultural treasure of the ancient Phrygian people, the mascot symbolises liberty, a value deeply ingrained in French national identity. Adorned with the tricolour of the French flag, including red, blue, and white. The Olympic Phryge subtly incorporates Olympic and Paralympic details. Notably, the mascot features the Paralympic logo and a prosthetic limb on its right side, showcasing inclusivity and the spirit of the Paralympic Games.
The Podium
The podium, an essential aspect of the Olympic design, stands out not just for its aesthetic appeal but also for its creative process. Created by Le Pavé, Global Concept, and Giffard, the podium for this event is made entirely from 100% recycled materials. The intricate patterns adorning the podium draw inspiration from the works of French architect Gustave Eiffel, the mastermind behind the Eiffel Tower, France's iconic symbol since March 1889. The design details, with their elegant lines and curves, pay homage to Eiffel's legacy, blending sustainability with artistic elegance.
