Moschino

Kicking off with the first brand, Moschino, known for its distinctive style that challenges traditional fashion norms while incorporating a sense of humour into its collections. The Spring/Summer 2025 collection, titled Collezione 02, under the creative direction of Adrian Appiolaza, firmly maintains the brand's vision and identity. The show emphasises fun, featuring oversized dresses with handwritten lettering that says “THINK,” encouraging everyone to question life. Additionally, Appiolaza introduces elegance with all-black looks, highlighted by figure-hugging outfits adorned with pearls, stamp-printed dresses, and playful accessories like smiley face jewellery and tops that say “GET HAPPY,” bringing a sense of humour to the finale.

Max Mara

Next, the luxury Italian brand Max Mara was inspired by French haute couture. The brand utilises premium materials and modern tailoring innovations, presented through simple designs. At this Milan Fashion Week, Max Mara represented its Spring/Summer 2025 collection, inspired by Hypatia, the great philosopher, mathematician, and astronomer of the past. The collection is centred on mathematical principles, notably Pythagoras, with each piece featuring triangular designs and transforming geometric shapes into three-dimensional structures. The primary colour palette focuses on white, aiming for a simple and minimalist aesthetic.

MM6 by Maison Margiela

Another captivating show at Milan Fashion Week was presented by MM6 by Maison Margiela, a brand known for its sleek and minimalist designs. This season, they presented their Spring/Summer 2025 collection, which stood out under dim lighting and a misty atmosphere. The collection featured a striking use of titanium white, and the silhouettes of the garments evoked the brand's early design ethos. Towards the end of the show, models appeared in looks that included tank tops resembling crumpled shopping bags, paired with distressed jeans and polished gold accessories. This collection can be interpreted as a commentary on fast fashion and counterfeit culture.

Ferragamo

Ferragamo remains a leading global fashion brand, steadfast in its commitment to Italian craftsmanship. This dedication results in high-quality, meticulously crafted pieces. For the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, the brand draws inspiration from the 1980s, reinterpreting this era in a modern context under the creative direction of Maximilian Davis. The collection emphasises a blend of lightweight sportswear with the brand's signature exquisite tailoring. Additionally, the garments are characterised by the use of earthy tones and beautifully complex layering.

Tod’s

The luxury Italian brand Tod’s, renowned for its use of high-quality leather, presented its Spring/Summer 2025 collection, showcasing elegance and simplicity while maintaining a classic feel. This collection draws inspiration from journeys along the Mediterranean coast, a place rich in tradition and luxury. It reflects exceptional craftsmanship, which is a core value in Italian fashion and a priority for Tod’s. The familiar coat from the previous season has been reimagined to be longer and looser, evoking the sensation of sea breezes. The colour palette remains grounded in natural tones, sand, stone, and bronze while also incorporating the greens of fields and the blues of the sea, adding a refreshing touch that evokes both tranquility and luxury.

The Attico

The Attico presented an intriguing show at Milan Fashion Week with the concept "The Sound of Breaking Glass." This collection reflects personal experiences and emotions, celebrating beauty and the complex journey of healing after heartbreak, drawn from the designers’ own experiences, Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio. They conveyed feelings ranging from heartbreak to the healing process. The collection features materials like chiffon and sheer lace, evoking a sense of sorrow and inner fragility, while also showcasing garments with shimmering details and intricate embroidery that symbolize inner strength emerging from healing. Notably, the runway was adorned with dim lighting and hundreds of delicate glass chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, emphasising the fragility of a broken heart.

Genny

Genny is an Italian fashion brand to watch, showcasing its Spring/Summer 2025 collection under the creative direction of Sara Cavazza Facchini. This collection masterfully blends daytime wear with the comfort and allure of evening attire. The show featured the striking white orchid sculpture “Geography of Desire” by Marc Quinn, symbolising the brand’s unique floral identity. Facchini has designed this collection to cater to women, emphasising elegance and sensuality, which are hallmarks of the brand. The collection focuses on daytime pieces inspired by nightwear, such as lingerie-style shorts and bell-sleeved shirt dresses crafted from crinkled cotton and striped silk. These garments reflect youthful energy while simultaneously showing a modern and accessible vibe.

Diesel

Diesel, the Italian brand known for its rebellious spirit, showcased its Spring/Summer 2025 collection under the creative direction of Glenn Martens. This season, the brand focused heavily on denim and jeans, elevating the fabric with jacquard materials and innovative techniques, including laser-cut designs. Renowned for its denim heritage and as a pioneer of low-rise jeans, this collection marks a return to the brand’s roots, reminding everyone of its past successes in denim craftsmanship. This collection is sure to reignite interest in Diesel's iconic denim pieces.
