‘Marguita’ The Mediterranean restaurant at Baur au Lac offers a menu of expertly crafted, delicious dishes

Located at the corner of Talstraße No. 1 in Zurich’s 8001 district, the Baur au Lac enjoys a prime position. The property is nestled beside a canal connecting to the lake, surrounded by both new and old boat sheds.  It is easily accessible by private car, bicycle, on foot or via Zurich’s efficient tram system, with the picturesque Bürkliplatz station located right across from the hotel. The Baur au Lac features 119 designed rooms, including 27 Junior Suites and 18 Suites. Each room is a masterpiece of design, blending Art Deco elegance with elements inspired by the Louis XVI and English Regency eras. The interiors are further enhanced by the tasteful incorporation of contemporary French, Italian, and English textiles.

In addition to its exceptional hotel services, the Baur au Lac now features a Mediterranean restaurant offering a menu of feel-good dishes. This summer, a new restaurant called ‘Marguita’ opened, the result of a collaborative effort by a large-scale team. The concept was brought to life by designer Martin Brudnizki, with the culinary expertise of renowned head chef Maximilian Müller and a meticulously crafted wine list curated by wine expert Marc Almert. The restaurant is managed by Aurélien Blanc, under the guidance of Christian von Rechenberg, General Manager of the Baur au Lac. Von Rechenberg described the vision for Marguita, saying: "The new restaurant is designed from the guests’ perspective. It should be a place of well-being and relaxation. The guest should not be intimidated, as is often the case in current Michelin-starred restaurants but should have their wishes and needs fulfilled.”
