"...With meticulous attention to detail, these medals embody a seamless blend of French heritage and contemporary creativity..."

As the Creative Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, LVMH has brought together the expertise of several prestigious Maisons to showcase France’s unparalleled savoir-faire on a global stage. At the helm of this collective endeavour is Parisian jeweller Chaumet, with its rich legacy dating back to 1812 at Place Vendôme, entrusted with designing the medals that symbolize the pinnacle of Olympic achievement.

In close collaboration with the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee, led by Tony Estanguet, Chaumet’s creative teams have meticulously crafted a Paris-centric design, paying homage to the essence of France and the City of Light. The medals feature a hexagonal motif representing France, adorned with rays evoking the radiance of Paris. Crafted from gold, silver, and bronze, these materials further emphasize Parisian excellence and play an integral role in the medals’ significance.

What distinguishes this collaboration is the incorporation of a preserved piece of iron from the Eiffel Tower during its renovation, seamlessly integrated using Chaumet’s distinctive ‘Griffe Setting’ technique. These medals not only serve as a testament to pride but also offer winners a cherished memento infused with the spirit of France to hold onto for a lifetime. The addition of red or blue ribbons, echoing the sleek lines of the Eiffel Tower, adds a final touch of elegance, elevating the medals to the status of exquisite artistic creations.

On the reverse side, Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, is depicted against the backdrop of the Acropolis, with the Eiffel Tower symbolising the Games’ return to Paris after a century. The Paralympic medals feature a view from the base of the Eiffel Tower, with the inscription ‘Paris 2024’ in universal braille.
