"...Within the serene courtyard of Cortile della Seta—Loro Piana’s Milanese headquarters—design meets reverie in a spellbinding installation conceived for Milan Design Week 2025. The collaboration with Dimoremilano transforms the historic space into an enchanting apartment that feels plucked from the frames of a classic film..."
Each room has been meticulously curated with evocative details: red velvet drapes, leopard-print carpets, golden brass accents and signature furniture pieces. Visitors are transported into a cinematic ambience, echoing the essence of La Prima Notte di Quiete—“The First Night of Quiet”—named after the 1970s romantic Italian drama that inspired the installation.
Exclusively designed by Dimoremilano for Loro Piana, the furniture pieces are upholstered in the brand’s exquisite interior textiles. These natural fabrics—cashmere, wool, mohair and linen—are rendered in earthy, inviting tones and paired with classical designs and curated artworks from renowned Italian galleries, forming a refined domestic mise-en-scène. Each area of the home—from the dining room and living room to the bedroom, bathroom and secret garden—invites contemplation and calm, elevating the everyday into an artistic sanctuary.
A defining element of the experience is the sensory landscape crafted by multidisciplinary artist Nicola Guiducci. Subtle, emotive sounds—like the ring of a telephone, the tapping of rain on glass, or the distant melody of a piano—enhance the warmth and intimacy of the space, evoking the quiet poetry of home.
Among the key pieces from the latest Loro Piana Interiors collection are the Valsesia dining table and Varallo bed. Sculpted from walnut, polished wood and cylindrical cast iron, and finished with Altai woven fabrics and moss-green mohair velvet, they speak to a masterful dedication to detail and material excellence.
An unexpected delight awaits in the Locarno cabinet—a three-tiered showcase inspired by museum displays. Clad in Altai textiles and flanked by mirrored glass doors, it conceals its structural lines with a sense of refined mystery. Further enriching the presentation is the debut of Punti a Maglia, Loro Piana’s porcelain tableware collection. Created in collaboration with 50 master artisans from Limoges, France, each piece features intricate patterns inspired by the art of knitting—a tribute to the Maison’s textile heritage and a celebration of artisanal savoir-faire.
The La Prima Notte di Quiete installation will be open to the public from 8–13 April 2025, daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Visitors are invited to book their visit via the official platform: https://booking.loropiana.com
