Glenfiddich’s latest Grand Château limited edition is a celebration of refined artistry, blending rich heritage and modern creativity for those who appreciate both excellence in taste and artistic expression. The collaboration with André Saraiva, the celebrated French artist known for his work with global luxury brands and the creation of the iconic Mr. A character, exemplifies the brand’s commitment to art and innovation. The limited-edition packaging, featuring Mr. A, adds a layer of depth to the collection, symbolising a harmonious fusion of two distinct cultures and creative visions.
The launch event featured an exclusive four-course dining experience for esteemed guests, curated by Chef Cher Phantip Attakanwong from the acclaimed Mad Beef restaurant. Each course was masterfully designed to complement Glenfiddich’s single malt whisky range, offering a culinary journey of unparalleled sophistication.
The experience began with a tantalising smoked duck honey salad, thoughtfully paired with the Gran Reserva 21-year-old. This exquisite starter showcased a delicate balance of flavours, with the sweetness of the honey-smoked duck harmonising with the tangy yuzu dressing. The dish was a masterstroke, an appetizer like no other, setting the stage for the evening.
Next came a velvety scallop and single malt-infused soup, featuring perfectly seared Hokkaido scallops, roasted mushrooms, and herb oil. Paired with the Gran Cortes 22-year-old, the dish was a symphony of rich, earthy flavours, heightened by the smooth, mellow notes of the whisky. The combination was both luxurious and comforting, crafted with impeccable attention to detail.
The main course was nothing short of a triumph, a slow-braised beef cheek in whisky reduction, accompanied by mashed potatoes, sweet peas, and herb crumble. This hearty dish was served alongside the star of the evening, the Grand Château 31-year-old, whose maturation in Bordeaux wine casks imparted a complexity and depth that elevated the flavours of the tender beef. The pairing was sublime, with the whisky’s notes of rich fruit and spice perfectly complementing the dish’s robust profile.
The grand finale came in the form of Chocolate's Tales—a decadent dessert featuring vanilla ice cream, caramelised banana crumble, dark chocolate ganache, and mocha berry mousse, paired with Glenfiddich Grande Couronne 26-year-old. The delicate sweetness of the dessert balanced beautifully with the whisky’s rich, indulgent notes of toffee, marzipan, and spice, bringing the evening to a truly spectacular close.
