“…It is well known that the Italian brand Fendi is one deeply rooted in the narrative of art and culture, a foundation laid since its inception in 1925 by Edoardo and Adele Fendi in Rome. This rich heritage has blossomed into a multitude of projects over the years…”

One notable initiative was the Fendi for Fountains project in 2013, where the brand undertook the restoration of Rome's iconic Trevi Fountain, preserving this cultural landmark. In a move to reinforce their Roman roots, Fendi chose the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana in the EUR district as their new headquarters. The first floor of the Palazzo was opened to the public in 2015, offering a glimpse into its grandeur. This was followed by the inaugural contemporary art exhibition at the Palazzo, featuring a solo show by Italian artist Giuseppe Penone titled "Matrice" in 2017. Moreover, Fendi has invested in youth training, creating scientific spaces for students of the Scuola di Alta Formazione at the Istituto Superiore per la Conservazione ed il Restauro, a branch of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities specializing in the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.

More recently, in June, Fendi hosted another significant exhibition, "Louise Bourgeois: Unconscious Memories," dedicated to the contemporary female artist at the Galleria Borghese. This marked the first time the works of the French-American artist were displayed in Rome.

The exhibition, curated by Cloé Perrone with contributions from Geraldine Leardi, Philip Larratt-Smith, The Easton Foundation, and the Academy of France - Villa Medici, explores the connection between the artist's memories and those of the museum. The exhibition pathway traverses various museum halls, the Aviary Garden, and the Meridiana Garden, the places Bourgeois explored with affection during her first visit to Rome in 1967.

In this precious exhibition, over 20 remarkable sculptures are presented alongside the distinctive architecture of Casino Borghese. These pieces articulate themes of transformation, memory, and emotional, and psychological transmission. These themes, meticulously chosen by the artist, convey Bourgeois' modern perspective through the Borghese collection.
