"...FENDI, the globally renowned fashion house, has announced a special initiative to take over bookstores and newspaper stands across Milan from 24th February to 2nd March 2025. This initiative marks the launch of the Women's and Men's Fall/Winter 2025-2026 fashion show, designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, and sets the stage for the commencement of the maison’s prestigious centennial celebrations..."
In a striking homage to literature and culture, FENDI has curated captivating displays at some of Milan’s most distinguished bookstores. From intricately designed window installations to statement-making columns and newspaper kiosks in the heart of the fashion capital, the maison has woven its signature aesthetic into these historic spaces. To commemorate this milestone, FENDI is also distributing two significant publications: FENDI Baguette Hand in Hand and FENDI Peekaboo-k. These books offer a profound exploration of the maison’s heritage, chronicling the legendary stories behind FENDI’s most iconic handbags in exquisite detail.
This exceptional initiative unfolds at a selection of Milan’s most historic and culturally significant bookstores and newsstands, including:
- Via Ulrico Hoepli: Founded in 1870 near the iconic Duomo, this bookstore is a treasure trove of technical, scientific, and multilingual literature.
- Libreria Bocca: Located within the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, this is one of Italy’s oldest bookstores, established in 1775, and is renowned for its curated collection of art and fashion books.
- Edicola Largo Treves: A distinguished newsstand in the Brera Design District, reimagined as an immersive creative space for FENDI’s special showcase.
- ADI Museum Bookshop: The official bookshop within the ADI Design Museum, housing an array of titles that have received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro design award.
- Edicola Civic Portanuova: A contemporary pop-up store in the revitalised Porta Nuova district, transformed for the occasion.
- Edicola Civic Darsena: A historic newspaper stand situated along the Navigli waterways, reflecting Milan’s rich cultural and architectural heritage.
As part of this literary celebration, FENDI is also presenting FENDI Hand in Hand, a publication that commemorates the 25th anniversary of the maison’s iconic Baguette bag. This book is a heartfelt tribute to the expertise of over 40 Italian artisans, who have reinterpreted the Baguette through traditional craftsmanship techniques passed down through generations. Meanwhile, FENDI Peekaboo-k delves into the 15-year journey of the Peekaboo bag, first introduced in 2008. It narrates the evolution, craftsmanship, and artistic reinterpretations of this celebrated design, originally conceived by Silvia Venturini Fendi.
To elevate this momentous occasion, a limited-edition run of signed copies by Silvia Venturini Fendi will be available, catering to collectors and devoted admirers of the brand. This special initiative not only underscores FENDI’s enduring influence in the world of fashion but also highlights its deep-rooted connection with culture, art, craftsmanship, and heritage—an ethos that has defined the maison for an extraordinary 100 years.
