"...A perfect fusion of fashion design and architecture..."
Fendi, the renowned Italian luxury brand, has long been known for its reverence and respect for various art forms. Under the artistic direction of Silvia Venturini Fendi, who oversees the brand's accessories and menswear divisions, Fendi has maintained a strong connection with architects over the years. This tradition continues with their latest menswear collection, a collaboration with MAD Architects, a Chinese architectural firm based in Beijing.
This partnership has materialised in the form of the iconic Peekaboo bag and new footwear designs, which made their debut at the Men's Fall/Winter 2024-2025 fashion show on 13 January in Milan, Italy. MAD Architects is internationally acclaimed for their distinctive approach to design, which bridges organic narratives with contemporary spaces, blending new technologies and materials with an Eastern affinity for natural forms. This striking concept has been translated into the details of the FENDI Peekaboo ISeeU men's bag model and the new FENDI MAD trainers, reflecting the interplay between humans and nature this season.
Under the creative guidance of Silvia Venturini Fendi and Ma Yansong, founder of MAD Architects, the Peekaboo ISeeU bag has been reimagined with glossy aluminium components separating the front and adorning the handles, echoing MAD's signature curved architectural style. The collection includes a Peekaboo ISeeU Medium in all-black Cuoio Romano leather with satin-finished aluminium inserts, and a Peekaboo ISeeU Small in grey Cuoio Romano leather with glossy yellow aluminium accents.
To extend this unique collaboration to Fendi's men's footwear, the upper part of the shoes features an organic injection-moulded form with two-tone foam details and gradient metal embellishments. The low, flat shape of the shoes ensures comfort and promotes good posture. Minimalist stretch laces are integrated into the upper part above the mesh tongue, with the brand's logo appearing on translucent foam details on the outer edge. Three special colourways complement the Peekaboo ISeeU bags: taupe grey with yellow details, black with dark blue details, and off-white with silver details.
