“...Every success has a beginning. For "Keng Harit Buayoi," a highly talented young actor, his journey in the entertainment industry started with determination and a love for the performing arts. Through a path filled with challenges and pressure, he has risen to stand in the spotlight. This is his story, a journey from a young man with a small dream at university to an actor ready to inspire others who share the same aspirations…”

Keng Harit’s dream almost came to a halt… before a new opportunity changed his life

KH: I initially studied to become a teacher in Phayao province and sought opportunities by entering a competition in Chiang Mai. Eventually, I received the chance to find work in Bangkok and joined a modelling agency. I remember attending castings for commercials and fashion shows. The reason I wanted to work in the entertainment industry was to help ease my family’s financial burden as much as possible. At the time, I hoped to become an actor while also figuring out whether I truly wanted to pursue a teaching career. When opportunities came my way, I questioned whether I should seize them. But at the same time, I wondered if breaking into the entertainment industry would be too difficult for me. Since I was getting older, I decided to return to finish my studies. However, I was later given another chance by P’Aof from Domundi, which allowed me to step back into the industry. That was the turning point that changed my life.”

From his first project, DMD Friendship, to his most memorable role in The Paradise of Thorns

KH: My early projects may not have been major ones, but they introduced me to new friends and helped me grow. One of them was DMD Friendship the Reality, where I got to experience various workshops and complete different missions alongside my peers. It was a fun and fulfilling time. However, the most significant project in my career so far would be the film The Paradise of Thorns, where I played the role of ‘Jingna.’ It was a performance opportunity I will never forget.

The role of ‘Jingna’ in The Paradise of Thorns helped him grow as an actor and a person

KH: Acting in this film taught me so much. The director, P’Boss, once told me that if I could make it through this project, I would be able to handle working in the entertainment industry with ease. The level of detail was intense, from workshops to actually visiting a durian farm to learn about cultivation, as well as getting familiar with the filming locations. We built nearly ten different sets for the film, and I observed every shoot, even when I wasn’t in the scene. I put in a lot of effort to learn, including understanding the mindset and perspectives of my character. ‘Jingna’ is innocent yet carries a certain complexity. This role made me realise what it means to love someone unconditionally, without thinking of oneself. There was one particular scene where I sat under a tree, and it reminded me of being at home the previous year. That moment really made me reflect on things, on mistakes I shouldn’t repeat and on things I once valued but had neglected.

A message to those chasing their dreams: Believe in Yourself

KH: I want everyone to stay motivated and find their true purpose. Everyone’s path is different, but one thing remains the same: self-love. If you love yourself enough, you can uplift those around you as well. So, love yourself, believe in your abilities, and never give up."

And this is his story , the journey of a young man who started with a small dream and has become an actor ready to inspire everyone with the same dream… You can read the full interview in the March edition of Hashtag Legend Thailand magazine, exclusively.
