"...From a deep passion for the art of performance and the entertainment industry that has spanned years, culminating in his emergence as a member of one31’s one TRAINEE, Pie Latthanan Tanpiwat shared an exclusive story with #legend_th. He revealed that his journey to this point was not merely a matter of luck, but one built on relentless effort, rigorous training, and a heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering support of his fans..."
Honestly, in the beginning, I had an interest in the entertainment industry, but not to the extent that I would pursue it with serious intent,” Pie admitted. “I never envisioned that my path would ultimately lead me to a career in this field as it has today. While studying for my bachelor’s degree in economics at Thammasat University, I was honoured with the Shining Star award at the TU Freshy Games. That led to opportunities to become a cheerleader and later a model for senior students, both within my faculty and across other faculties. These experiences became the stepping stones that sparked my enjoyment of meeting people and working on set. Over time, these led to opportunities such as starring in a music video for The Toys and eventually appearing in commercials. However, the turning point in my journey came when I was approached by one31 with the chance to audition for one TRAINEE. This opportunity ignited a realisation within me, throughout my four years at university, I had unknowingly developed a love for working in the entertainment industry. I knew that if I let this chance pass me by, I would regret not even trying. This decision ultimately paved the way for my entry into the world of entertainment as it stands today.
Becoming a member of one TRAINEE is more than just a personal journey of honing skills and talents. As the eldest member, Pie Latthanan Tanpiwat also plays a crucial role in fostering harmony among the group, ensuring that every member shines to their fullest potential.
LT: “As the eldest, I must say I’ve observed and felt the growth of every member of the group. Initially, I thought the other members would be around my age, but it turned out they were much younger, between 15 and 18 years old. At first, I was a bit concerned about whether we’d get along, given the age gap. However, as we spent time together—studying and participating in activities—it became clear that understanding one another wasn’t as difficult as I had imagined. Occasionally, I remind them about time management and schedules, but overall, I think everyone shares the same goals and direction, always ready to support and uplift one another.”
Time management remains one of Pie’s top priorities, as he strongly believes in maintaining a balance between his personal life and the rigorous training required to refine his acting skills and manage the pressures of being an artist.
LT: “Every day, the channel and our mentors provide us with a schedule outlining what we need to accomplish. I always prepare myself in advance. Personally, I’m someone who keeps work and personal life separate. When it’s time to work, I give it my all—I’m fully committed and take it seriously. However, I’m not someone who dwells too much on negative feedback. I view criticism as a teacher, a guide that motivates me to improve for the next opportunity. When it comes to my personal time, I use it to recharge, focusing on myself. It’s a crucial part of maintaining my energy and balance.”
It is undeniable that online platforms have become powerful tools that allow public figures to connect more closely with their fans. Pie Latthanan Tanpiwat is among those who wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment.
LT: “I think these platforms are incredibly beneficial. Sometimes, I’m just walking home, filming along the way, and posting it on social media. Then someone comments saying, ‘I love watching Pie’s TikTok videos of him walking home. They’re so happy and uplifting.’ That was the starting point for me to start engaging with fans through these platforms. It creates a positive energy, not just for them but for me as well. However, the platform I use the most to interact and communicate with my fans is X (formerly Twitter). It’s the space where I feel I can express myself the most and let my fans or followers see who I truly am.”
Pie further shared that aside from the projects he is currently involved in, Billkin Putthipong Assaratanakul is someone he hopes to work with in the future.
LT: “One actor who has truly left an impression on me is Billkin Putthipong Assaratanakul. I was deeply impressed by his performance in the movie ‘How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies; LAHN MAH, The Chinese Family’, which I had the chance to watch with my parents. His ability to convey emotion in that film was exceptional. As an actor myself, I aspire to reach that level of performance someday. Billkin is someone I would love to collaborate with and learn from in the future if the opportunity arises.”
As the New Year begins, Pie Latthanan Tanpiwat shared exclusive insights with #legend_th about his goals and aspirations, both as an individual and as an artist under Channel One31.
LT: “There are two main goals I’ve set for myself this year. First, I want to act in a drama and develop my acting skills to a level that’s widely recognised. I’m particularly drawn to complex dramas with intricate storylines that leave viewers with something to ponder. The second goal is to improve my health and physique. I’ve always felt I’m a bit too thin, and while it might seem like a small thing, it’s something I’m determined to achieve this year.”
Before wrapping up this special interview, Pie revealed to #legend_th the one individual who has inspired him the most, a figure who serves as his role model both personally and professionally.
LT: “When it comes to acting, Billkin is someone I aspire to emulate. On the musical side, however, there’s one artist who has always been a huge source of inspiration for me, is Bren Joy. I’ve been a fan of his ever since my first year of university when I had the chance to attend his concert. His vocal techniques and musical style really resonate with me, and even now, I continue to follow and admire his work. If I ever get the chance, I hope to sing at his level someday.”
