"...Casio has officially introduced its latest innovation in Thailand—the CRW-001, the brand's first-ever digital ring watch. This cutting-edge product combines advanced technology with innovative design, offering both practical functionality and a fresh take on digital timepieces..."
The CRW-001 draws inspiration from the “Yubiwa Pipe,” a cigarette-holding ring that marked the beginning of success for Kashio Seisakujo, the predecessor of Casio Computer. First introduced after World War II, the Yubiwa Pipe played a pivotal role in Casio’s history. This new digital ring watch pays homage to the original design of the Yubiwa Pipe, blending its timeless form with Casio’s continued technological advancements.
The CRW-001 is ten times smaller than standard watch modules, achieved through Metal Injection Molding (MIM) technology. This technique allows the watch case, back, and ring to be crafted as a single piece, ensuring durability and precision. The ring retains the signature watch strap design with intricate metallic details, a highly efficient microcircuit, and a crystal face secured with specialised adhesive for water resistance and enhanced durability.
This innovative ring watch features a small LCD screen displaying six-digit digital time (hours, minutes, and seconds), along with additional functionalities such as a calendar, dual time zones, and a stopwatch. It also boasts a soft flashing light that activates every hour or at preset times, symbolising the rhythm of time. The ring has an inner diameter of 20 millimetres, suitable for finger sizes US 10.5 or EU U, and includes two resizing inserts (19 mm and 16 mm) for a customisable fit.
The CRW-001 is priced at 4,900 THB and will be available for pre-order in a limited release of just 50 units starting 20 January 2025 via Facebook Casio Watches Thailand. Customers can pick up their orders on 26 January 2025 at the G-SHOCK CASIO Shop in centralwOrld.
