"...Cartier captivates aficionados of fine jewellery with a landmark showcase, the “Nature Sauvage” exhibition, hosted in Singapore. The immersive experience brings to life the spirited world of majestic animals through a fantastical landscape, blending nature with imagination in the most exquisite form..."
Set within the historic Former Command House, a site imbued with cultural significance, the exhibition marks a special occasion as Cartier celebrates 30 years of its presence in Singapore. This iconic venue serves as the perfect backdrop for Cartier’s final chapter of Nature Sauvage, echoing both heritage and innovation.
Spanning over 219 square metres, the exhibition invites visitors into six meticulously curated universes, where natural beauty, cultural narratives, and exceptional craftsmanship converge. A central highlight is the Maison’s interpretation of Singapore’s distinctive Peranakan heritage, showcased alongside a special “Art of Threading” workshop led by Michel Aliaga, Director of Heritage and Style at Cartier, in collaboration with local artisans. This creative encounter underscores Cartier’s shared values of cultural diversity, preservation, and artistic excellence.
Among the masterpieces on display is the Alaxoa necklace, featuring over 400 emeralds and requiring more than 2,600 hours to complete. It is a stunning tribute to fine craftsmanship and legacy. Each room within the exhibition is a work of art in itself, from Thrill with the Wind, inspired by coastal breezes, to Treasures of Land, which reflects geometric interpretations of nature, all viewed through Cartier’s imaginative lens.
Further exploration leads to Shapes of Water, a poetic homage to flowing water and its symbolism, while Tradition and Fine Watchmaking celebrate the Maison’s timeless heritage, artisanal mastery, and horological artistry. The journey culminates with Special Order and Private Viewing Rooms, where guests are immersed in Cartier’s high jewellery creations in a deeply personal and evocative setting.
Elevating the experience further is the involvement of acclaimed local artists. Mike Tay of Onlewo, Hazlee Suip of Rooma, and sister-duo Swee Lin and Swee May from Maneknya bring contemporary interpretations of Singaporean culture to the fore. Their artistic contributions enrich the exhibition with visual storytelling and textures inspired by heritage, nature, and national identity.
The final chapter of Nature Sauvage is not only a celebration of Cartier’s unparalleled craftsmanship and visionary artistry but also a poetic dialogue between cultures and creativity, a majestic ode to the wild, imagined and redefined by the Maison.
