“…Cartier, the renowned French jewellery and watch brand that all are familiar with, has recently introduced its high jewellery collection crafted from the inspiration of precious wildlife emblematic of the brand. Under the simple yet powerful name of Nature Sauvage..."
Although the iconic panther, representing both Cartier, takes centre stage, the collection also beautifully reinterprets other animals such as turtles, flamingos, snakes, zebras, and even snow leopards into stunning designs.
"The new perspective of Cartier's Bestiaire kingdom surprises with a sense of awe, infused with modernity through unexpected encounters. Jewellery pieces express the stance and personality of each animal, pulsating with vitality. Playing with sculpture, volume, and optical illusions that blend seamlessly with landscapes of imagination, this embodies the spirit of Nature Sauvage," remarked Jacqueline Karachi, Creative Director of High Jewelry at Cartier, emphasising the grandeur and wonder of Maison’s latest collection.
KOAGA
The necklace crafted from White Gold stands out with intricate detailing of zebra motifs, a beloved animal by Cartier. The graceful curves of the zebra's profile, its ears, and its distinct facial features are all meticulously designed to stand out. Embellished with rectangular emeralds and droplet-shaped Rubellite sized at 6.25 carats, it is further adorned with onyx, diamonds, and Brilliant-cut emeralds.
PANTHÈRE JAILISSANTE
The panther has been reimagined through the fusion of jewellery into a hybrid masterpiece, manifested in a flexible half-ring bracelet. It features a gracefully curved silhouette, accentuated by intricate details. Outstanding with its slender legs and feathers that are crafted from sapphire-studded gold, while its eyes are set with embedded emeralds, showcasing Cartier's artistry and prowess in unmatched craftsmanship. Adorned with stunning Zambian emeralds, weighing 8.63 carats.
CELESTUN
The pink flamingo, a familiar species in the animal empire of Cartier, is the heart of a joyful and poetic work of art. It has been reinterpreted in the form of a brooch that Cartier created for the Duchess of Windsor in 1940. This piece showcases a unique perspective by playing with materials and the long-necked bird with a beautiful beak. The flamingo is crafted in black lacquer on rose gold, while emeralds of various sizes and aquamarine evoke the beauty of water sources. The harmony of blue and green, a timeless colour combination associated with the Maison for over a century, is further accentuated by a 38.50-carat aquamarine pendant.
MOCHELYS
When surprise meets creativity, it transforms into a graceful tortoise adorning a stunning necklace, embellished with a large-scale Rubellite weighing over 71.90 carats. This piece transcends excellence through its gracefully curved and voluminous shell, as well as the intricate patterns within the scales that reveal a mesmerising play of light. Moreover, the pendant itself can be detached and worn as a brooch, offering versatility beyond compare.
AMPHISTA
The serpent-shaped necklace features intertwined bodies coiling around the neck, highlighted by diamonds at the heads. Between the two serpents, nine emerald-cut diamonds, totalling 14.72 carats, are meticulously arranged. This piece stands out with its harmonious blend of natural elements and urban aesthetic, creating a perfect fusion of sophistication and allure.
ALAE
Envision a captivating necklace that evokes the grandeur of skyscraper silhouettes, yet upon closer inspection, reveals a jewelled beetle design on its reverse. This exquisite creation from Cartier seamlessly blends Maison's signature onyx and diamond style elements, narrating a tale of timeless elegance intertwined with boundless design imagination.
PANTHÈRE DES GLACES
The panther, an important symbol for Cartier, has been brought to life again in a vibrant way over a landscape that looks stark and enchanting. Its sleek and graceful shape shows the masterful skill of Cartier's artisan. The careful choice of gemstones makes the scene look realistic while also capturing the powerful design. It also accentuates the play of light to showcase the rare and certified D IF Type IIa diamond, a precious gem that this panther figurine guards with utmost care. Marquise diamonds bordered by crystal accents give a dimensional brilliance to the geometric structure, as if sculpted from ice, while simultaneously enhancing the radiance of the D IF Type IIa diamond centrepiece.
TATSU
"Here be dragons" on ancient maps was a phrase demarcating the known world from uncharted territories. But for Cartier, the dragon is a symbol that invites contemplation and sharing of beauty. This symbolic creature holds two Mozambican ruby cabochons in its mouth, while its neck area is adorned with intricately designed scales. The contrasting red and black stand out vividly, key characteristics of Asian artistry and Cartier's brand colours, imbuing the piece with power and vibrancy.
SCUTELLIA
The ring's stunning design draws inspiration from the textures of crocodile skin and glass sculptures, blending seamlessly through geometric shapes, rhythmic lines, and life-like contours. Decorating with marquise and baguette-cut diamonds, complemented by pointed metal accents, captivating every eye with its scaly patterns and the brilliant sparkle of the glass structure. This intricate design is crafted into a striking pyramid, accentuated by angular and multi-leveled elements, exquisitely set with a 3.48-carat D IF Type IIa diamond.
