"...When the legendary French brand created a special collection for Thailand, with only 67 pieces available..."
Cartier, the prestigious French jewellery and haute horlogerie brand is instantly recognised for its style and taste, captivating sophisticated women and gentlemen worldwide for over 17 decades. Most recently, this luxurious jewellery brand has introduced a special collection crafted specifically for Thailand. Under the name “Tank Louis Cartier Bangkok Edition,” this collection seamlessly integrates the golden tones that symbolise Thai culture into its design, blending them perfectly with the sophisticated identity of the Tank watch model.
The Tank model from Cartier is not just any timepiece, but the house’s legendary design concept dating back to 1917, inspired by the shape of French tanks. Evolving from its original form, the Tank Louis Cartier model introduced in 1922 refined the tank’s silhouette with a more curved case, maintaining the Tank’s geometric charm. This timeless design has attracted royalty and legendary figures such as Yves Saint Laurent, Andy Warhol, Princess Diana, Gary Cooper and more over the years.
The success of this iconic model has been continuously developed, with the most recent reinterpretation through the special collection, Tank Louis Cartier Bangkok Edition. This edition features a case size of 33.7 x 25.5 mm and a remarkable thinness of just 6.6 mm. It includes special details meticulously crafted to create a unique and refined timepiece, with a case and dial-in gold tones inspired by the Tank Must Vermeil model from 1980. Additionally, the watch is adorned with diamonds on the crown, adding a luxurious touch. Furthermore, Cartier has utilised gold as a crucial component in crafting the watch, known for its durability and luxurious appeal. Combined with the high-precision laser technology used to engrave the Sunray patterns on the dial, this timepiece stands out as a true work of art.
The most intriguing aspect of this timepiece collection cannot be else but the engraving on the back, ‘BANGKOK’ and ‘LIMITED EDITION OF 67 PIECES.’ This leaves a special mark reserved for those fortunate enough to own one. The code ’67’ symbolises the Thai Buddhist calendar year 2567, and this number is also used as a unique quantity for the production of timepieces in this special collection. It can be said that the Tank Louis Cartier Bangkok Edition is truly a valuable piece worthy of collecting. Every detail of this artwork has been meticulously crafted by the truly skilled artisans of Cartier, making it a true masterpiece.
The Tank Louis Cartier Bangkok Edition does not excel solely in its luxurious appearance. In terms of mechanics and functionality, it is also exceptionally well-crafted. This special collection features a manual-winding movement, the Caliber 1917 MC, with a substantial 38-hour power reserve. Additionally, it boasts water resistance of up to 30 meters and comes with two interchangeable straps, one in black alligator leather and the other in brown alligator leather.
This luxurious timepiece from the special collection, the Tank Louis Cartier Bangkok Edition, is available today at the price of 497,000 Thai Baht.
