Arceau Costume de Fête Watch: Hermès’ unveiled its exquisite dial craftsmanship

The Arceau Costume de Fête Watch embodies the refined artistry of Hermès, evident in its meticulously crafted dials that beckon exploration. From miniature painting to leather marquetry and embroidery inspired by costume scarf patterns, each detail reflects the creative vision of designer Jan Bajtlik
The round watch case captivates with its asymmetric lugs, offered in two metals: white gold and rose gold, each boasting a 38mm diameter. Enhanced by 82 diamonds encircling the case, it exudes elegance with a dial crafted meticulously using various techniques that seamlessly blend together. Depicting a vibrant scene of a galloping horse amidst a lush flower bush, the dial is a testament to Hermès artisans’ skill. Small leather pieces are intricately assembled into a horse shape and meticulously painted with intricate patterns, showcasing precision and artistry. Colourful gemstones and seams sewn with red gold threads add depth and allure to the dial, creating a truly captivating timepiece.
In the part of the floral decoration, leather pieces are meticulously cut into flower shapes and intricately adorned with multi-colored leather pieces, each measuring only 0.5mm thick. These pieces are then assembled into beautiful flowers boasting eye-catching patterns. The technique of colouring and embellishing gemstones is inspired by the indigenous culture of Poland, the birthplace of the legendary, Jan Bajtlik. Drawing from traditional Krakowian dressmaking and jewellery craftsmanship, these techniques are then transformed into captivating dials through the combination of Hermès’ artistic craftsmanship. They are paired with Swizz Swift calfskin leather straps in sakura pink and electric blue hues.
Powered by the Manufacture Hermès H1912 mechanism, revealing the intricate decoration and embellishment of the ‘sprinkling of Hs’ pattern on both the bridge and the rotor, showcased through the sapphire crystal caseback. This timepiece entices with its captivating details meticulously crafted on the dial and its beautifully designed mechanism.
