To mark this special occasion, #legend_th has curated a list of four newly opened restaurants that promise to deliver distinct and unforgettable culinary journeys. Embark on these new gastronomic adventures and create lasting memories that will make this month of new beginnings truly one to remember.
Chao Phraya Terrace
To kick off the culinary journey, we begin with a unique take on traditional Thai cuisine, reimagined with modern flavours you won’t find elsewhere. At Chao Phraya Terrace in Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok, guests are invited to indulge in exquisite Thai dishes amidst a warm and inviting atmosphere, with views of the Chao Phraya River as the sun sets. What sets this restaurant apart is its commitment to preserving the essence of Thai grilling traditions, using coconut charcoal from Prachuap Khiri Khan and lychee wood charcoal from Nan to infuse every dish with rich, smoky aromas. One standout feature is the Fire Skewers menu, inspired by the bold and tasty flavours of Thailand's street food culture. These dishes are prepared over an open flame, with a variety of options including Wagyu Beef Ribs from Maha Sarakham, Organic Chicken Drumsticks from Khao Yai, and Organic Pork Neck from Ratchaburi. Each dish is crafted by the talented Chef Pod Jessada Khruapunt, who has brought this distinctive grilling technique to life at the restaurant, ensuring every bite is a burst of rich, authentic flavour. The ingredients used are all sourced from across Thailand, elevating the experience with the very best produce from each region, making every plate a unique reflection of the country's culinary heritage.
Nila
This fine-dining Indian restaurant offers a refreshing twist by exploring the lesser-known yet fascinating culinary traditions from India’s coastal regions, where the influences of Portuguese settlers have left a lasting imprint. Drawing from ancient port cities and riverside towns, each dish tells the story of 19th-century Indian traders who embarked on journeys to discover exotic spices, shaping the unique flavours of India’s coastal cuisine. The menu features dishes that strike the perfect balance—rich in spices but not overpowering—allowing the subtlety of the ingredients to shine through without losing the boldness that defines Indian food. Highlights include Grilled Tiger Prawns, marinated with bold spices for a fiery yet well-rounded taste, and Braised Lamb Ribs, slow-cooked in aromatic curry, with tender meat that melts in your mouth, free from any overpowering gamey flavours. Set in a luxurious yet welcoming ambience, this restaurant brings a modern touch to traditional coastal Indian cuisine, offering a sophisticated yet relaxed fine dining experience. Here, you can savour the rich, layered flavours of India’s diverse coastal regions, all while enjoying an atmosphere that blends elegance with a sense of warmth and intimacy.
Hashiri
At Hashiri, a Japanese restaurant that stands out for its meticulous attention to seasonal ingredients, every dish is a masterpiece of modern flair and refined technique. The focus here is on using the freshest ingredients, carefully crafted into dishes that not only tantalise the taste buds but also bring a playful and vibrant presentation to the dining experience, making it all the more memorable. Guests at Hashiri are treated to a feast for the senses, with the opportunity to watch the chefs as they work their magic, showcasing their culinary skills in an open kitchen. Each dish embodies a contemporary approach to traditional Japanese cooking, highlighted by offerings such as A5 Wagyu Beef, grilled over charcoal to perfection, creating an irresistible smoky aroma and melt-in-the-mouth tenderness. Also featured are sashimi selections, handpicked for their freshness and quality, and donabe rice with slow-braised beef cheek, boasting a rich, tender texture, paired with premium foie gras for an indulgent touch. The atmosphere at Hashiri is equally remarkable—warm and inviting, yet marked by an exceptional attention to detail that elevates the entire dining experience. Whether you're indulging in the sublime flavours of the dishes or appreciating the artistry of the chefs at work, Hashiri offers a truly refined yet enjoyable contemporary Japanese dining experience.
K by Vicky Cheng
K by Vicky Cheng is a newly opened Chinese restaurant that is quickly becoming one to watch, helmed by the Michelin-starred chef Vicky Cheng. This restaurant introduces the “The Harvest of Kilin” menu, which offers an authentic take on traditional Chinese cuisine, blending centuries-old culinary wisdom with modern cooking techniques and the finest local ingredients. The dishes focus on the rich, distinctive flavours of Cantonese and Chiu Chow cuisine. Highlights include the Barbecue Iberico Pork ‘Chau Siu’, a tender red pork coated in a subtly fragrant sauce with every bite, and K’s Signature Crab with Chinese Black Olive and Garlic – a Hong Kong-style stir-fry where the chef’s special recipe features succulent crab meat tossed with garlic and other ingredients to create a beautifully balanced, flavourful dish. This fine-dining establishment serves both à la carte and gourmet courses in a luxurious setting that captures the essence of traditional Chinese elegance.
