Vetements takes over Hong Kong, for one day only

What: Vetements pop-up in Hong Kong

When: November 18, 2017

Where: Kai Tak Cruise Terminal

Vetements, the brand you either love or hate, graced Hong Kong with a one-day pop-up, in collaboration with Joyce. On Saturday, a fleet of DHL cars lined the waterfront of Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, serving as hawker-style stands for the event. The satirical, tongue-in-cheek witty humour that Vetements has become so famous for was certainly alive and well; shoppers were given Hong Kong styled “red white and blue” shopping bags and the offering of products included parodies of HK tourist tees, mugs, magnets and lighters, all sold at the Vetements premium pricing, naturally.

While many of these pieces were exclusive to the one day event, most shoppers were seen snapping up HK$6,400 the Vetements x Reebok Sock Runners, which seemed reasonably priced when compared to the HK$6,500 rubber rain coats and HK$600 coffee mugs also for sale. With this cult brand, you either get it or you don’t.
