Start the year right with some exciting new beauty inspo. To get you started, here are a few of our favourite makeup looks that we’ve seen recently.
Au Naturel
Crazy Rich Asians star Michelle Yeoh opted for neutral hues and earthy tones to match her Golden Globes dress and the same spectacular emerald ring that her character, Eleanor Young, wore in the movie. Dior makeup artist Sabrina Bedrani finished off Yeoh’s sophisticated look with a glossy pout using the Dior Contour Lipliner Pencil (#169 Grege) and Dior Addict Lip Maximier (#013 beige).
Wing It
Emily Ratajkowski made heads turn (yet again) at Versace’s fall/winter 2019 men’s fashion show in Milan earlier this week. On the catwalk, the model sported a high ponytail with a dramatic makeup look created by legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath. To create an exaggerated winged eyeliner, McGrath used the Mothership III: Subversive Eye Palette in Black Metal, from her own line of cosmetics.
Chanel’s Global Creative Make Up and Colour Designer Lucia Pica, dreamed up an Egyptian-inspired beauty look for the house’s Métiers D’Art 2018/19 Paris-New York show last December. Top models, including Vittoria Ceretti and HoYeon Jung ruled the runway with glowing cheeks and a seriously fresh face. To create the look, Pica used Chanel’s luxurious Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation, Le Correcteur de Chanel and Palette Essentielle products.
Tickled Pink
YSL Beauté ambassador Kaia Gerber wears one of this season’s hottest lipstick shades for the cosmetic giant’s newest makeup campaign. Gerber is pictured wearing the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil in Stick N49 (Rose Saint Germain) created by the maison’s Global Beauty Director, Tom Pecheux. Apply the high-shine cosmetic directly on the lips or use a brush to intensify the colour. What’s more? The formula is packed with natural peppermint oil so it’ll also hydrate and smooth the lips. Voilà.
