Louis Vuitton’s Fall-Winter 2021 Showcase unveils the Felt Line

First unveiled during Louis Vuitton’s Fall-Winter 2021 Showcase, Virgil Abloh’s Felt Line reflects “Maison’s ground-breaking approach to circular creativity” and contributes significantly towards sustainable fashion development.

Anticipated to be revealed on 16th July 2021, this line features one ready-to-wear long coat and three staple leather pieces, a Keepall, a Keepall XS and a Soft Trunk. Conceptualised by Virgil Abloh, the artistic director of LV’s menswear collection, the leather goods remain iconic to his very first fashion show for the brand.

Inspired by ‘moving blankets’, each bag is functional, protective, and designed using a variety of eco-responsible materials including a combination of 43% certified organic cotton (the highest standard) and 20% recycled wool as the main material.

Sporting an unpredictable edge, each product highlights a monogram pattern that seems to appear and disappear as a result of lurex thread tufting. While the lining is 100% recycled polyester, upcycled from the House’s existing stock, the chains and corners comprise 70% recycled plastic with a multicolor effect as a consequence of its jacquard chromatic aspect. The strap and handles of each bag are premium LWG-certified leather, and to add to the charm, each piece flaunts Abloh’s signature – also from the House’s existing stocks – on a leather patch.

Abloh’s Felt Line is synonymous with the theme of LV’s Fall-Winter 2021 as well as with the quality, sustainability and durability criteria of the luxury fashion brand. LV’s sustainable development plan, “Our committed journey” aims to create 100% of its products through eco-conception by 2025, and the Felt Line demonstrates this ambitious goal remarkably.
