Iris Van Herpen Couture Fall 2016

It’s hard not to be completely blown away by Iris van Herpen’s new couture collection. Inspired by cymatics – the way sound waves are visualised into mesmerising geometric patterns – van Herpen’s creations include dresses made from silicone-coated handblown glass bubbles to plisse, line-printed organza dresses, woven from polymer threads five times thinner than human hair.

Models perched on stone pliths, moving their arms around majestically to the bell-like music courtesy of Japanese musician Kazuya Nagaya.
