Dresses: what you need to wear to Clockenflap

England has Glastonbury. California has Coachella. New York had Woodstock. All of these music festivals have one thing in common, they each defined a look stylistically. Here in Hong Kong, we have Clockenflap and there is no reason that we can’t start our own style page, especially now that it’s their tenth year running.

Since Hunter wellies, denim cutoffs and anything crocheted have all been spoken for, there is only one direction to go: dresses. The Clockenflap look is about dresses. The decision to be made here is length and print. Shorter babydolls with lace up boots is a good combination; personally I think short dresses and boots to the knee (or over) is a real winner. There are also some amazing maxi length dresses on the market that go super well with booties you’ll already have in the closet.

There is an instinct to automatically reach for jeans or shorts when going to music festivals, but resist this. Instead, consider the freedom of movement you get with a dress, and the much-needed foot protection you enjoy with a boot (and of course, the lovely visual). Go with this, and look for your photo on a style website near you!
