Zoë Kravitz has a lot going on for her this year.
Apart from recording music and making movies, most notably playing Christine in The Divergent Series, she has been infusing her free-spiritedness and ultimate cool factor to Yves Saint Laurent Beauty, following an exclusive social media collaboration with the brand that began in May.
“Yves Saint Laurent Beauty has always been one of my favourite brands. Their ability to combine the chicest of style with a raw edge has always been to me one of the best ways to express yourself through fashion and beauty,” says Kravitz. “Nothing is forced, nothing is fake, but everything is bold, strong and unafraid. I’m very excited to work with this legendary and timeless company”
Yves Saint Laurent Beauty also teased the collaboration on Instagram, with promises of a video project, music and lots of make-up looks.
The “Before the Light” video project will showcase up-and-coming music talents from around the world who use the power of make-up to prepare and reveal their personality on stage. Outside of film, Kravitz fronts the band Lolawolf, who will be on tour this summer.
Earlier this month, Yves Saint Laurent Beauty did Kravitz’s make-up for the Met Gala, in a look that was very much inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Kravitz completed her look with a black lace mask and a Valentino Couture minidress.
