This season, we’ve teamed up with Hogan and six influencers to show you how to rock Hogan’s FW18 collection. The collection is eclectic and sporty, with unexpected fluorescent, metallic and glitter accents. Whether you like to keep it classic or go a little bolder, the range has something for every personality. We take Alex Lam, Amy Lo, Ashley Lam, Heidi Lam, Hilary Fan and Maggie Stadelmann to the streets as they show off their best #HoganStyle.
Alex Lam
Alex was pretty easy to shoot. When I went up to his office, I found he had come prepared with a little entourage, including a hairstylist on deck. We had two shoe options, but the other ones were too big, so we went with the Interactive Hi Top sneaker and Hogan backpack. We went up to a bridge crossing, where students from a neighbouring school had just got out of class, so a lot of the outtakes have little miniature feet running rampant in the background. I instructed him to sit and retie his shoe – this was the second or third shot.
Amy Lo
Amy was a bit of a squeezie, as her shoot session was sandwiched between two other KOLs. She came in with a smile on her face and a positive attitude; we went to Hysan Place and got
a few shots, but they didn’t really turn out. As we were going back to the office, Amy got really enthusiastic about this street crossing, so she sat on a stoop, coddling her furry Hogan hobo bag and sporting the Active Ones with multicoloured glitter.
Ashley Lam
Ashley was the first person I shot of the bunch. Since then, I’ve seen her perform at a fashion event – and let me tell you, the girl’s got a voice. Though I didn’t get to hear much of it on the shoot, she was softer-spoken offstage. I told her to jump on that ledge and walk around in her silver Interactive sneakers, which she did like a champ, despite me urging her to get closer and closer to the edge. (The silver hobo bag also catches the light really nicely; just thought you should know.)
Heidi Lam
Heidi probably had the most difficult task of fighting the weather. Yes, people, what you don’t see in this photo is us fighting the torrential downpour that was summoned upon us that day.
We got this shot after 15 minutes of running in between cover and the street corner as she posed, unfazed, by the rain droplets falling on her head. She had the cutest little neon fur top to match her fluorescent Hogan hobo bag and finished her look with the Maxi H222 in metallic pink.
Hilary Fan
Hilary was such a sweetheart. We hit it off pretty easily, as we’re about the same age and ended up figuring out we have a couple mutual friends. I took her to a rooftop and had her do a little sporty stance to match her black Hogan hobo bag and Maxi H222s in metallic silver. We ended up talking more about ourselves and what we’ve got going on than actually shooting… but it’s probably my favourite shot of the bunch.
Maggie Stadelmann
Maggie pulled up in this decadent money-printed dress, which went really well with Hogan’s leather bomber. The furry hobo bag and Maxi H222s in white also brought some colour back into the look. When I asked her if she knew which side of her face she preferred to be shot on, she immediately said her right – and I love a girl who knows her angles.
