Did you know that in 2014, 235,900 children aged below 18 years old were living in poverty in Hong Kong? Founded by David Boehm and Bruce Stinson The HUB is a drop-in youth centre which offers underprivileged children a place where they can go to play and receive support (be it through English lessons or help with their homework) as well as the chance to enjoy extra-curricular activities and outings that they wouldn’t have been able to afford otherwise. Following the unprecedented success from their first charity ball in 2012 and with the support of the Rotary Club of Kowloon North, The HUB were able to open their centre in Sham Shui Po a year later.

Their annual charity ball at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong has now become one of the city’s key events of the year. This year their theme is ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ and to celebrate the upcoming ball in October, The HUB hosted an private screening of the movie in Emperors Cinemas for their supporters, sponsors and donors.
