A glimpse of the glamor of CENTRESTAGE 2016

Fashion lovers take note. One of the biggest industry events in the city is going down next month at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Over 200 international fashion brands are coming together for CENTRESTAGE, a three-day style extravaganza complete with runway shows, seminars, networking events, designer sharing sessions, and more.

Put on by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the event is broken down into three thematic zones: Glam, Allure and Metro, each one revealing the season’s must-have items and trends. Local designer labels to look out for include Anagram, Angus Tsui, Doriskath, Harrison Wong, House of V, I.T and Loom Loop. A number of overseas brands will be shown as well, including Taiwan’s Cheng Pai Cheng, Koreas Dew E Dew, Japan’s DressedUndressed and France’s Edward Achour.

The opening event, CENTRESTAGE ELITES, will be a celebration of Hong Kong and Korea’s top designers, like Fixed Studios and Juun. J, who will be making their Hong Kong debut. If you haven’t heard of Junn. J, it’s the Korean design supremo, whose perfectly tailored, street-inspired, avant-garde designs have won the favour of G-Dragon and Taeyang— and you know those two wouldn’t lead you sartorially astray.

A highlight that we’re especially looking forward to is the EcoChic Design Awards, the world’s largest sustainable fashion design competition that challenges emerging designers to create mainstream clothing with minimal textile waste. If you didn’t know, the fashion industry is the second worst pollutor in the world in the world, after oil.

Don't miss the fashion event of the year

Primarily aimed at fashion industry insiders and professionals, CENTERSTAGE is transforming into OPENSTAGE on the last day of the event to allow any and everyone to get a first look at the latest fashions for free. Don’t miss the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest, which highlights fifteen up-and-coming local designers. Founder and designer of Japanese brand G.V.G.V., Mug, will be attending as this year’s VIP judge.

CENTRESTAGE runs from 6-9 of September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. View the schedule, register and find out more details at www.centrestage.com
